I’ve always wanted to learn to spin but was always intimidated. You make it look so easy. ❤

I'm such a weirdo with the way that I spin, it's crazy lol! I have to separate and draft my fiber just so. Then I begin to spin afterward. But the separating and drafting is where I weird out, as I spend more time doing that than anything (OCD & Anxiety). As I want a uniform single that is even from start to finish. It turns out the way I want it to, so I look at it as a labor of love. lol

Thank you for keeping this so simple and not over complicating it with info overload😊I would love to try spinning but have watched so many complicated videos it seemed so overwhelming. I think this helped so much, I am going to keep my eye out for a starter kit and give it a whirl😅

I loved the affirmation that if we are beginners that if we have little “fat worms” or “little worms” that that’s okay! and that we’re practicing. I didn’t even realize I needed that affirmation until I heard it! sometimes we forget those simple words help so much! I also appreciated the message you threw in from the future! I love when we come and correct what we’ve said it such a beautiful way you did! Very much learned a lot and enjoyed this video! Thank you!

Thanks for the refresher course Kristin. I have that same Schacht drop spindle and I just picked it back up again. And yes, please do a Turkish drop spindle tutorial.

while watching this video to learn more about drop spindling, I'm knitting with a store bought yarn that is thick and thin and it comes out really beautiful. So if your spinning is thick and thin, it is absolutely not a problem, because it looks really cool!
@chyhartКүн бұрын
I tried my best to attach the pieces as i went along, but ecy place i did looks terrible, is thinner than the rest and no matter what i do i can't get the full tail fluff in the twist so it leaves this weird ugly knob fluff :( I just idd my first practice round. I am not good at pulling the roving thin, but i want think yarn so i guess that's ok.

Really liked this video! Please do a video for the following yarn spinning activities: 1. Turkish Drop Spindling. 2. Preparing handspun yarn (after you finish spinning it)

You are spinning wool on a drop spindle. Right now I am spinning wool on an Ashford traditional wheel. I am not wheeling.

As a woodworker I've always been mystified by spinning and textile craft in general. Watching this video was very educational and I'm left with a better understanding and an itch to go make some spindles. 😄

What happens after you've spun your yarn onto the drop spindle? Like how would you knit with it? Would you have to do 2 so that you can ply them together to prevent them from unravelling?
