Hermeto Pascoal, boxing with Miles Davis

Brazilian legend and albino Hermeto Pascoal was in Vooruit in Ghent giving a workshop organized by Cassette (music atelier). Pascoal is famous Brazilian musician (composer, multi instrumentalist) that became world known thanks to his collaboration with Miles Davis for Live-Evil (released in 1971). Hermeto told us a beautiful anecdote about his encounter with Miles. Miles --who was a big fan of boxing and who had a boxing ring at his house -- invited Hermeto a certain day for a fight........

Hermeto is ten years younger than Miles (Miles was born in 1926 and Hermeto was born in 1936), so Hermeto was 35 years when they both fought together (also, the subtitles are wrong: he says Miles was 45 years old at the time, not 46)

In a way you can say it is relevant and had a big impact to his live, his young years, being an albino, he spent most of the time indoors, where he, instead of working on the field, he practised the accordeon for hours...
