Hi Sriram. I reviewed your doubt and you are right. The rate of reaction is indeed 5 × 10^42. However, there is one more thing. While the rate of reaction is equal to that, they have asked the rate of conversion of He to C and since one reaction involves 3 He atoms, that means the rate of conversion of He atoms is equal to thrice the rate of reaction. Thus final answer is equal to 3 × (5×10^42) = 15 × 10^42
