I completely understand how stressful it must be to live in Ukraine right now, watching everything you ever loved get burnt to the ground and have your life never be the same again all because of some nutcase Russian man deeming your country's independences as fault. The other side's media is just them censoring what's actually going on during the war 24/7, needing to act like Putin are the good guys in all this while having to ignore all the atrocities that were committed just so they don't get arrested for speaking out. We need to stop being like "The media is untrustworthy don't listen to it!" When really we should use it as a tool to get our information from first, and then try to look deeper into the reporting, see if the information being given actually holds up and we aren't using confirmation bias to dismiss any vaild information that can help us learn to understand the current state of the world. It's not xenophobia, it's "invaderphobia". He's not afraid in general of foreign people, he's just afraid of those of the country which is currently massacring his people. That's a pretty rational fear if you ask me. My grandfather lived in Finland during the Russian invasion and he told me the effect sirens and explosions have on your psyche.
