Hi folks, I would like to share with you a video tutorial I have been working on. It covers one of my favorite nodes in Substance 3D Designer, which is Voronoi Fractal. I first go through the general overview of the node itself and then demonstrate some specific examples to give you an idea of what can be created with it. I hope you like the content and find it useful. Keep voronoing ;P

this node is super important. Its available in almost any material authoring tool. I first saw it in blender. and since the nodes aren't much there, it's very helpful.

Wow. I haven't watched the entire video yet, but what I have watched really helped me learn a lot more about voronoi textures. Mostly I was interested in sci-fi, so I watched that part of your video. It's very informative and I'd love to see more deep dives into other noises. Thank you for the video and your informative content.

@@maxkutsenko7169 Yeah, voronoi is definitely useful for any natural patterns, since it's a pattern that's always seen in nature. There's another video I watched part of that shows how it's a pattern you find in seed distribution of sunflowers, can see it in bubbles blown in milk, and if you cut open a full garlic you can see the voronoi pattern. It's also a pattern in the sun if you zoom in close enough to see it. I think skin pores have the same pattern. ... So, yeah, anything completely natural can benefit from it. Less natural things probably don't benefit from it as much, though it can help create an interesting pattern anyway, at least as a starting point.

@@maxkutsenko7169 One thing I was experimenting a bit with is trying to create a similar look to a voronoi fractal by using several voronoi noises. If you take a voronoi at a scale of eight and blend it (using copy at 0.3 opacity) with a voronoi with a scale of double the first one, so sixteen in this case, you can get something similar to a voronoi fractal with a min level of 0 and max level of 1. You can keep blending more voronoi noises, doubling the scale and halving the opacity and it will give you a similar effect to the fractal at higher max levels. I suppose that might allow one to get to much higher levels than 4.

I am afraid not, such a versatile node didn't exist, so its better to upgrade to the latest substance

This node is a fairly new addition to Substance, if you upgrade to the latest version, you will find it for sure.
