Hello! Today we have an interesting classic engine for disassembly, created by the joint venture Sofim. Back in the 1970s, Renault, Alfa Romeo and Fiat were sent to the Sofim plant. In 1981, Sofim ceased to exist after its acquisition by Iveco.
Nevertheless, diesel engines created back in the 1970s and the units developed on their basis were in production until the mid-2000s.
The 2.5-liter Sofim 8140, or S8U engine in Renault cars, appeared in 1990. We have analyzed its common atmospheric version with vortex chamber injection. Such an engine was intended for Renaullt Trafic and Master, for Iveco Turbo Daily.
