Do you have a recommendation on how to keep the harness straps and the tether straps from sliding out? I have my set up just like you and the straps just keep coming out.

Is there a way to fold the lid back so that it stays open during a sit?

Whoever designed it never used it. When the lid is closed water can get in on either side. When you try to close it The bungee Loop is next to impossible to get to go around the connector. A little extra Pride and manufacturing Pride would go a long way. Very disappointing.
