Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP What is in the Box

Opening up the box of a Vortex Viper PST long range scope. This scope looks great, and I am looking forward to trying it out.

Thanks for the video, I have the same scope. In my own opinion, there's no disadvantage to the FFP, it's the only way to go.

So the only difference in the FFP and 2nd fp is you just have to move the turrets if you want to do a holdover?

With a 2nd focal plane scope you have to go the a specific magnification (typically the highest) for the ranging portion of the reticle to work. Otherwise the subtensions aren't meaningful. With a 1st focal plan (FFP) the reticle the size of the reticle changes with magnification. If you have thick cross hairs and a high magnification, then in theory you might not be able to see the target due to the size of the cross hairs. This is why most scopes are 2nd focal plane. But, with the FFP reticle the hold overs work at any magnification. That is the big draw. Moving the turrets will change point of impact regardless of focal plane.

GearCheck 101 I just posted two videos. One on setting up the zero stop. The other showing the reticle battery install. Both were on a 1-4x24 PST but the mechanics are the same. No follow up on the long range scope yet.
