same boil performance? i really like this idea and want to experiment with the joining of the two cans. is there any magic to the depth of the ridges or the height of the unit? thanks for sharing! :)

No magic, just make it look to be about the same aspect ratio as this one. The grooves are not deep; I made them with the back side of a hacksaw blade just protruding out of my vise. Alse, the smaller pop cans work very well ( you can see one in my video titled "Day Hike, New Stove and Hot Chocolate" toward the end).

Hello, the stove is really cool, but how have you pressed the two inside parts together?

If you file the lip of the can or use a "safety" can opener to remove the top, you are left with just a small band. I flared the opening of one can with a glass long neck bottle, pressed them together and back flared the other can. Makes a nice tight fit with no glue required.

Squeeto Na a video of how you do this would be helpful. I have tried to make this and I am having trouble with assembly of the inner pieces. I love the design! Thanks for sharing.

Sorry, I don't have time to do a video on this. Step1- remove lid with a safety can opener, a regular can opener won't work here. You are left with a small band of aluminum at the lip. The aluminum is folded over at the very top of the lip. Step2- sand the fold at the top of the lip so that the band is separated from the can, remove the band from both cans. Step3- flare one of the cans using the neck of a glass pop/beer bottle (long neck type). Push the two cans together.
