I have the original sparc, I like it. I have a few of your guy's scopes and a set of binos, I've been just as happy as anything I've got from Leupold, and I didn't have to pay quite as much

Sort of looks like the Crossfire with a solar panel. Even still I’m really excited to test this product and run it to its limits

Will it work using solar even if there is no battery in or the battery is dead? Also if it doesn't have full light will the dot not show at all or will it kinda work and be faint or 'low powered'? Great review!

Regret buying my Sparc AR a year and a half ago. It's too heavy, no shake awake, no auto brightness, and hard to adjust with a magnifier. Used it twice on my AR and I still go back to Burris Fast Fire II. Take it in on trade in?

Are there any killflash honey comb lens covers that are compatible with the Sparc solar? Love your optics but do not like anything reflecting down range. I already own this optic. Just want to mitigate any reflection. No one can answer my questions. Google searched and even checked Amazon. Found a couple that say compatible with Sparc 2 but not sure if the dimensions are the same with sparc 2 vs solar model. Please get back to me... Thanks

14 hours seems really long given you have auto-on capabilities. Just seems like you will run through battery life for no reason. One hour of no motion should be more than enough assuming auto-on is immediate once motion is detected. How long would the battery last if you were never able to utilize the solar capability?
@VortexOpticsUSA
@VortexOpticsUSA 3 жыл бұрын
Considering the battery life, even without any solar at all, is going to be well in excess of 50,000 hours, and it's going to be even more if the LED isn't actually on when in storage after the 14 hours is up, it really isn't going to be an issue. The only thing you'd really ever need to be worried about is just based on the battery's chemistry itself rather than the sight. Batteries just naturally break down over time and that will almost certainly happen before your sight wears it down if primarily in storage.

Appreciate you reaching out! We currently don't offer a trade-in program. Our best recommendation would be to sell your optics and then put the money towards the optic of your choosing. There is quite the demand for our used optics as they still carry our VIP Warranty.

I never understood why the whole 14 hours to go to shutoff mode. If it hasn’t moved at all in 10 minutes it should go to shutdown mode till it senses movement again. That’s just my opinion though.
@VortexOpticsUSA
@VortexOpticsUSA 3 жыл бұрын
Hey there - the shutoff time is actually structured around LE shifts as most will go for 10-12 hours. This will ensure the optic is ready to use in any situation.
@rfcdgaf
@rfcdgaf 3 жыл бұрын
@@VortexOpticsUSA I don't know what the breakdown of civvie users to LE, but there should be an option to change that to way less than 14 hrs... Seems odd to cater to a potential niche set of users?
@chuckles9317
@chuckles9317 3 жыл бұрын
@@rfcdgaf why are you complaining about them adding a feature that would be beneficial to LEOs? Hell they made the things battery life last longer then the shelf life of the battery so who cares that it stays on longer.
@VortexOpticsUSA
@VortexOpticsUSA 3 жыл бұрын
@@rfcdgaf The other benefit of a longer auto shutoff is for the user that uses it for home defense over night. With a short auto-off feature there would be a good chance that the unit would shut off while you were sleeping and not ready when you need it. We appreciate the feedback though and will definitely pass it along!
