Love this. I was 7 when this happened, I remember the electricity going out and being really irritated, then wondering why the sky looked green. Ran upstairs to our huuuge window to look outside and saw porch chairs, roof shingles, and all sorts of stuff flying around. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

The tornado hit the Albertsons store and Buttercup Creek. The same day an F5 hit Jarrell and another tornado hit Pedernales River area.

Small tornado, but spinning violently with multiple vortices. The various vortices account for the spotty damage.

I was 5 when this tornado hit, I can remember every minute of it. It jumped over our street and destroyed a house on the next street over. Crazy memory

as brutal and tragic as this funnel was, how incredible is it that this wasn't even the strongest funnel that afternoon, not by a long shot

Damn, this dude doesn't shake easy. I wonder what it takes to make him nervous.

I don't think I would have remained that calm while all of that was going on. Great video. I've never seen this footage before.

Did they get hit at the end of it when it was weak or at the begining when it was weak. It seems it did little damage to their house and tons to other houses. Maybe it was dying or just starting when it hit their home?

I live in Houston and I remember these storms. I love how Texans generally handle tragedy. Notice how good spirited everyone is? I guarantee you they were out there the next day helping one another clean everything up. No crying on TV for the government to help them, just getting it done.

I have a DVD somewhere of a compilation of home footage from several different people in the area, including this one. If I find it I will post it.

I've lived in Cedar Park my entire life and I was 1 year old when this happened. My dad was at a meeting and my mom was at home with me and we were in the interior closet of my house.

WOW, where on earth did you find the extended version of this clip?? I have seen the first part of this video many times but I didn't know there was footage past the windows breaking, or the impromptu survey afterwards.

What neighborhood is this? I've lived in Cedar Park for 16 years and idk where that is.
@RampinUp4612 жыл бұрын
It was in Buttercup Creek, if I recall correctly. I remember being in that neighborhood at the time and seeing it pass over me, and I know it went over the roof of the Albertsons store (it's now an Office Depot, I believe), and I also remember hearing kids in class tell stories about how it trashed that part of town when I was in fourth or fifth grade.
