I was 13 and home alone when it hit our house in Cedar Park. I haven't really seen footage until now. I'm glad I took the warning seriously and stayed inside. I'll never forget the roar of the tornado punctuated with windows breaking.

Thats the tornado that took albertsons away... I was 3 years old when this tornado hit and I STILL have memories of going to that store with my mom. That was back when video store/video game rental shops were really common, so my mom would always take me by that little area at the front of the store and let me pick out a new Super nintindo game to try out.. man so many good memories. Cedar park has changed so much over the years.

Thanks for posting this footage. I was at work in Cedar Park that afternoon, and the tornado came onto our campus after chewing through Buttercup Creek. A really bad afternoon.

I remember seeing another video of this tornado on a TLC documentary in the late 1990s. It was so surreal to see the tornado just shooting stuff from the neighborhood. Then they showed the Jarrell tornado and how it started out like a pencil-neck tornado and how it grew into a monster and went down I-35. Great channel! :D

I was in Leander too, and 9 yrs. as well... that's an image that sticks to you. My mom panicked and sent me outside to warn the neighbors... bad move, but I was okay. I have never ever since then felt such a powerful wind as that day. I had to hold on to stuff, it felt like I would blow away... very scary stuff tornadoes.

I was 9 years old (turning 10 in June) when this happened and lived only a 5 minute drive north from the Albertsons that got destroyed (I lived in the part of Round Rock that was basically Cedar Park while going to the Leander School District). I only moved to the state in late 1994 so all of this was new and confusing for me. Heck, I knew no better and called my mom screaming for her to pick me up from my friend's house!

Wow that was pretty intense. They're lucky that it wasn't any stronger than it was.

yea the jarrell tornado was really bad. that same storm system that produced the jarrell tornado came through here in west central georgia and produced only an ef1 tornado, thank god! but it still destroyed a lot of houses, damaged part of a high school and college and flipped over some planes at the airport.

The girl was right ... the animals probably were dead... and niave father says... no they survived. I hope they didn't leave their dog outside if they had one. I heard one barking earlier. Why was that man so non-caring. Poor little girl. She was so scared.
