I would say most don't put jimping on blades that small because it's not necessary whatsoever and it's a waste of time and money for them, a 3" or so blade isn't going to do anything hard enough to need it and most people don't use their knives for anything but package/letter opening etc and I don't think jimping is required for that. Blade looks good but I'm not into thumb discs, and give it a proper green micarta then I would be looking closer at it.

I kinda wanna know, anyone else have issues with the thumb stud discs, I think they look horrible and don’t work any better than the regular thumb studs, I don’t understand why they do that

I think - big stress on the *I THINK* part - it's a little easier to to drill the small hole and tap it for the screw to hold the disk on, than bore out the whole channel to either press fit a bar for the studs, or to fit the center of a two piece screw together set. I could be talking right out if my ass here. I know that Emerson was a big user of the disks when he didn't use his wave opener. I csnt find any good solid source on which came first, the disk or the stud.
