I know how you feel, i took forever to build my Fire Warriors and to start to paint them! I eventually painted a model for a reference, and now finally i have started to paint the rest of the squad! It all takes time, glad to see i am not the only one. My painting and model building has definately got quicker with time, just practice and repitition seems to help.

I think working on your lighting setup would quite much increase the look of your face camera segments. Right now what looks like a single light is lighting half your face, but casting a lot of shadow on the other half of your face, leaving you looking quite gloomy. a "Fill light", which is another light between 50% and 75% of the brightness of your main light (the "Key light") and with a diffuser to take the harsh shadows off the other side of your face. I also think your background should be lit more as well, more similar to the light level of your face. As it stands right now the composition looks a little gloomy, and lifting the brightness with more lights will enhance the comfort feel of your videos. Having more light will let you better your camera's settings - ISO and Shutter Speed. This will make your image look sharper and less noisy with a lower ISO, and less motion blur with a faster shutter speed. There are a million and one guides on the internet on all those camera skills. As for your graphics i have nothing to say about them, they're lovely, neat and clean, and you integrate them very well into other videos or images you show on screen. I can't wait to see where this channel goes and am really excited to keep watching.

Appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed comment! I’ve got 4 lights but need to work on brightness and composition, I struggle to find a balance I’m happy with - you can see in some of my previous videos it’s much brighter, but almost looks too bright on non-hdr displays! I had a fill light here but think it was both too low as well as I didn’t notice the Votann box was blocking a lot of it until after if recorded. Regardless, I appreciate your pointers and will play with them in my next video 🙂

I didn’t spot what video you replied on with that comment I just made! Everything I said still applies (I wasn’t happy with this first weekly wrap up lighting) and I tried to implement changes in my 2nd video, but that one’s still too gloomy as well I think, the film light was better but I need to bump up my key light by a couple of %

Hey, just watched your video. While I do like the concept of Votann and their asthetic, their rules and abilities are way over tuned. They have armor of contempt a space marine ability which negates 1 ap , and they have these auto wounds except better. As a guard player that's a kick in the gonads :(. But they are slow. I just think they need to be better balanced by not having as much judgement tokens (at least from what I saw in the battle reports). On another note, have you considered other skirmish games besides kill team? While I myself also enjoy 40k, I could not get into kill team. The initial investment threw me off, as its a bit pricey, and the rules are kinda...well. theres other games. I've tried getting some of my playgroup into Corvus belli Infinity. Definitely a good alternative, with a lower cost and the rules are all free , you should check that out. Its a very interesting game system, where even if its not your turn, you can still take actions.

Yeah the Votann do seem a touch overturned! Will be interesting to see how that's handled, aesthetically I really like them so I'm pleased they're here 😊 I've not looked into any skirmish games at all really, I don't even know how Kill Team works outside of a light understanding, so will definitely check out Corvus Belli Infinity - appreciate the tip!
