Free speech is protected to inhibit compelled speech and the proliferation of newspeak. If the word equity has been redefined to mean "equality of outcome, rather than equality under the law or equality of opportunity", then you need to argue against that redefinition, rather than acquiesce and instead argue about the principle. _From 1620s as "an equitable right, that to which one is justly entitled," especially a right recognised by courts of equity that is not provided for in the common or statute law (such as certain property rights of wives). Equities, "the ordinary shares of a limited company," carrying certain rights to assets and profits, is attested by 1904._

You bring to light a lot of the ridiculousness of the political system. However, I want to point out that I think belittling and ridiculing people who you think aren't working hard enough, while praising the virtues of hard work to me is the same simplistic system serving thinking we are taught from a young age and a symptom of slave mentality. Ideally people have plenty of time in their life for relaxing and for working at things they are inspired to do. Without the political system, no one would be needing to work as hard as they do now. Making it seem as though the only thing that makes a human being not worthless is how hard they work, is not at all something I agree with. I think having time for relaxation, contemplation and reflection is equally important to hard work. Without the former we do not mature into fully aware, conscious human beings. I think this is one of the reasons the system wants people constantly working so much and staying so busy in the first place.
@diogenes9295Ай бұрын

@@diogenes9295 'Value' here is a vague term and not synonymous with the fetishization of hard work. I value thinking people who have their own thoughts, more than I value hard workers. One could argue it is the hard workers largely responsible for keeping this system going.

I would love to see you do a video on Chase Oliver's platform. He is the libertarian party candidate and has gotten almost no coverage anywhere but his platform is quite aligned with ancap thought. There are still almost three months until the election; it may not be too late for a third party candidate to surge, given the unpopularity of the two big party candidates.
@LarkenRoseАй бұрын
The notion of a "Libertarian" political party is an oxymoron. And VOTING for a master is 100% incompatible with freedom. Chase is IN NO WAY a libertarian, or a voluntaryist. HIS platform includes the following: "Reduce Federal spending to pre-pandemic levels, balancing the budget." Still 100% pro-extortion and pro-statism, just wanting it slightly smaller. "Reduce the red tape and barriers to entry that inhibit new businesses and entrepreneurial growth." Making a smaller violent, intrusive ruling class is not libertarian, or anything close to voluntaryist. "Significantly reduce the money supply..." So keep crooks at the Fed in business, but tinker with meaningless crap. The rest is the same crap: talking about tinkering with the same authoritarian crap, so we can have gentler, nicer masters. That is not freedom.
@nicholasblakiston6297Ай бұрын
@@LarkenRose Thanks for your response and fair enough. However, I do think we need to get to a point where governments abdicate their power through their own legal processes, to avoid conflict among members of the population who consider the law to be valid. And he seems closer to that than the others, although spending needs to be reduced to pre-Federal-government formation levels, red tape needs to be reduced to zero, and the dollar should be declared officially worthless by the outgoing government to save people the hassle of sending in worthless payments once the currency has already effectually collapsed.
@LarkenRoseАй бұрын
@@nicholasblakiston6297 "we need to get to a point where governments abdicate their power through their own legal processes" 1) That has never happened in the history of the world, and will never happen. 2) Hoping for that just reinforces the insane, anti-human notion that we need legislative permission to be free. 3) Chase Oliver has no principles, is a complete statist, and all his campaign will accomplish is to dupe some people who should know better, into playing an inherently immoral and insane game that only ever empowers psychopaths.
@nicholasblakiston6297Ай бұрын
@@LarkenRose Just because it hasn't happened yet does not mean it cannot. Those who rely on governments are like alcoholics or addicts who will turn to their substance until it utterly fails them, but eventually it will. Once it does, an orderly transition of necessary government services to private enterprises and charities, combined with complete economic freedom, will be necessary to preserve civilization and mass production. Although the uncertainty of this prospect inspires fear among the population now, it may inspire hope once the population loses faith in governments and there is no alternative. At least, this is what I'm counting on, for I'm ill-equipped to develop a fully sustainable homestead, as most people are. My plan is to travel to Washington with my plan once the dollar and bond market collapse, and to go down with the ship if my proposals continue to fall on deaf ears. I have no desire to attempt continued survival in what will otherwise become a Mad Max world once most people have no ability to feed themselves and even those who do are outnumbered thousands to one by those who don't.
@nicholasblakiston6297Ай бұрын
@@LarkenRose Just because this hasn't happened before does not mean it cannot. The government will utterly fail those who rely on it when the currency and bond market collapse and complete freedom and an orderly transition from government services to private enterprise and charity will be necessary to preserve mass production and civilization itself. Government dependents are like addicts who will return again and again to their drug until they are faced with their own demise but it is in this moment of hopelessness, where their drug (the government) fails them, that the prospect and uncertainty of freedom can begin to inspire hope instead of fear, and recovery can begin. Few have a fully self sufficient homestead and they will be outnumbered thousands to one when the collapse happens. An immediate economic restructuring will be necessary and the government needs to step out of the way so this can occur. It is my intention to advocate for this until I either gain the population's agreement to the point the necessary legal processes can occur, or to go down with the ship when it inevitably sinks, for I like most others rely upon mass production for survival, and am in no position to build myself a fully self-sustained homestead.
