As an Epiphone fan boy, I voted Coronet. Already I'm thinking...pick up a used Chinese made one for like $300. Drop a Lollar into it for $115 (I've got Lollars in my Casino - wow!) and boom, probably will sound as good or better than the US made one for a quarter of the price. Although I am in the camp of everything on the guitar effects the tone to some extent, nitro finish and rosewood aren't enough of a factor for me to justify the the $1700 price tag.

Col - thanks for uploading! Sounds like there is loads of exciting content planned and the regular viewers will be stoked for it all. The core guitaristas community will likely watch every video regardless of what's being reviewed! I am surprised you grabbed that coronet because of the price tag! I would like to see that shot out against the other single P90 guitars like the eastern made coronet, Les Paul jnrs though! I have been considering grabbing one of the older coronets for a while now so it will be interesting to see what difference is - maybe try and find a vintage 60s one to borrow and review alongside? For me I want to see the Maybach reviewed as that looks like a beauty! In general it's good to see a mix of everything on the channel from lower cost to expensive gear! We can all appreciate a inexpensive guitar as most people have a mix of expensive and cheap guitars (as it says in the poll in guitarist magazine anyway)! It's just good to keep the regular weekly upload rolling! Side note: it's been good to hear the influence behind each week's jam as well!
@mofomartianp4 ай бұрын
That made in USA Epiphone intrigues me... so I voted for that one. But I'd love to see a roundup of all the Les Paul's in the 'Standard' price range to see how they compare. I'll be watching all your videos regardless :) Cheers

For me, the cheapies are more interesting, because it has really only been a few years that China & Indonesia have been knocking them out of the park. The high end ones are beautiful and fun to see reviews on, but since they are not really in my sights in this economy, I consider those reviews something of a waste of my time.

I subscribe to your channel because I enjoy your approach, knowledge, curiosity and taste in guitars. To be honest, I don't always tune in when you showcase the budget stuff. It seems like 90% of the guitar videos on KZbin are about cheap gear, Amazon brands and "Chibsons". That being said, I don't think you have to spend a fortune to get a great guitar in 2024. I find the mid level stuff most interesting, but I'd rather see Gibson than Chibson. Cheers!

Well, I love my FGN FL Expert (expensive) but they make a Neo-Classic version of all popular models at USA (Gibson/Fender). Sorry that wasn't one of the choices but I'm *that* guy lol and you've done nearly every MIJ brand except so I'll probably always mention it until you get to experience the glorious fretwork on even FGN's lowest cost instruments (their own house models, which are kind of their own things and are good at all of it).

Not a bad idea for when you need to put out a fast video. I'll pop over and vote. Not all that interested in the Coronet. And the whole "made in the USA" thing doesn't matter to me except when looking at resale prices (because guitar players have been duped into thinking if it isn't USA-made, it's somehow lacking). Looking forward to whichever you review! Take it easy, Colin.

Hi Coiln, always interested in whatever you throw on the bench, but in a current predicament after my trip to the Gibson Garage. Despite being careful to descend into the depth of the Epiphone cellar, I fell in love with a Gibson Les Paul 60s unburst. I think Lazarus & the old Epiphone Les Paul Standard Pro my have to go. Love those guitars dearly, but the 60s was something special & for appearance sake, the 2 out, 1 in might be more palatable for my better half.

Stop apologising for making a living! This was a perfect, introductory video to the next few weeks at Guitaristas, so, in that way, it was a perfectly adequate video. As for the vote, I've placed mine, but I would prefer the Fazeley first, it tying in with 'phase 2' of your affordable T-type comparison videos. It seems I'm in the minority - in fact, I would have the review videos in reverse order of the current voting list. Ah, well, I'm sure you'll get round to all of them in time - looking forward to the content, er.. going forward!

I love the look of the Epiphone, but I do not like the wrap around bridge. Had one on a Danelectro, but it was sunk into a well. A real bugger to change strings. Maybe the Epi is easier. I really like the look of the Guild too. 600 Euros at Thomann. The Epi is 1800 and not available for several months. All your reviews are great, so no matter which guitar you choose, I'll be waiting for next Friday. Have a great week.
