I am from Karachi, and in pre-Partition days, central Karachi mostly had Gujrati speaking people, Parsis, Goans (all of them brought rom Bombay by the British to work as civil servants), Baloch, but very few Sindhis. Sindhis mostly lived in Malir and Kimari in the outskirts of the city. I am 63 and as a child I never heard anyone speak Sindhi in Karachi until Bhutto got elected. Most of the Karachi that is now didn't even exist back then. Even now, there are probably lot more Baloch people living in Karachi than Sindhis.
