Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Labor’s green renewable schemes feel like an “alternate universe”.
“That is exactly how it feels … it is an alternate universe,” Mr Bolt said.
“I barely understand what is going on and I think increasingly voters are waking up to this.”

It seems to me that as long as inflation doesn't affect the remuneration of Labor politicians there is no problem with inflation because obviously Labor has done nothing to get inflation down so the voters can't be that important. Also, while Labor is in power it seems to spending taxpayers' money as if there is no inflation issue and the botched energy transition, the high electricity costs that feed through the entire economy, the housing shortage, the excessive immigration with all the consequences for our younger generations appears to be no problem among Labor because according to them everything is hunky dory right?

We shop at 3 different supermarkets now. We only buy things on clearance or on special. Takes about 2hrs after we visit all 3. But as a cpl in their 50s we have smashed our grocery bill down to 250 per fortnight. We don't buy many snack foods just essential 3 meals (including work lunches). My wife bakes our cakes and biscuits and because we don't buy much processed stuff anymore and focus on fresh fruit veggies and meat products. We feel healthier. Yes it takes longer and meals are more time consuming. A deep freezer was the best thing we ever invested in.

What's the point of going solar when the power companies keep lowering the solar feed in tariff. They give you a measly 5 cents then charge you through the nose for what you use. What next, they're taking about charging you for the solar power you supply them.

@@user-gt2dj1kr7z Or you just get rid of inefficient and expensive rooftop solar and go back to industrial scale thermal generation with ample baseload electricity and stable prices that allow for off peak power and allow low prices for consumers whilst allowing energy operators to generate a profit and remain viable. Negative electricity prices like we have now is a clear indicator we have too many forms of intermittent power on the grid.

Hi, Folks. As I understand it, inflation is caused by too much money trying to purchase too little product and/or services. IF I am correct, there would be two main approaches to dealing with inflation: 1. Raise interest rates to tighten the supply of money - which is the RBA's ONLY tool. 2. DE-regulate industries and services to enable them to produce or provide more to meet the demand and thus reduce the impact of competition in raising prices - the tools which are in the government's 'tool box/lever arsenal' . The RBA HAS done what it can to reduce inflation by raising interest rates - in my humble estimation, quite restrainedly. This sorry labour excuse for a federal government has kept on injecting money into the economy like a drunken sailor onna drunken shore leave - which has done NOTHING to ease inflation but instead has only FUELLED it. Just my 0.02. You all have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

'As it was, so it shall ever be' ? - Our world is changing and denial will not alter that fact. Simple things such as increases in insurance premiums and local council rates can make being a landlord very expensive. Costs are passed on to tenants in the form of significant rent increases. Last year, wet weather destroyed the roads around or town. My insurance premiums and council rates have more than doubled in the last ten years - due primarily to climate change.
