Thanks for this, for future viewers it is helpful to remember the games term for a round = "turn"

Great playthrough. I got the recent 2nd printing KS and have played a few times. Some other playthroughs have played incorrectly - Thanks for knowing the rules.

I’ve noticed this game getting positive attention since it was released. It would be nice to get more sociopolitical topics in games even if the theme itself isn’t “fun”. But this game’s box art and board art look like it could help sell it to a wider market.

That was an outstanding solo play - thank you so much for this!

Hello , new subscriber , thanks for this very pleasant and dynamic playthrough. This game is really special and cool in its thematic. Its a bit expensive here in France but there are a few boxes available on second hand market and cheaper. However, do you think and feel its possible to mitigate the randomness of dices ? Its a lot of dice rolls.
@TotallyTabledАй бұрын
Hello! Thanks for the sub! As far as the dice go, the only way to mitigate the randomness is with buttons. A lot of cards give you buttons. You can also discard any card to take buttons equal to the number of campaigner pawns you have on the map. The solo game does have a lot of dice rolling when controlling the solo opposition and there is no way to mitigate those dice rolls. Thanks for watching!

This gives me hope that some day maybe we'll see games along the lines of John Company, Fire in the Lake, Navajo Wars, or High Frontier 4 All getting Totally Tabled playthrough treatment.
@TotallyTabledАй бұрын
Those are quite the jump up in complexity, both to play and to film, but you never know. John Company is on my to-play list for sure. Thanks for watching!
@slimyweaselАй бұрын
@@TotallyTabled Thank you! The play complexity you'll manage just fine, I'm sure, but filming and editing a 3-5 hour long game like JoCo sure is tricky. On the other hand, you somehow pulled it off with Frostpunk! Maybe we'll need a new format for these kinds of historical/simulation games. You'll appear in a blurry video in a dim-lit room with a layer of digital noise wearing a moth-eaten Cosby sweater smoking a pipe, with a dusty old bookshelf behind you. And then the actual gameplay will be six hours of unedited footage filmed on a shaky phone camera with a game board being at a 35-degree angle to the viewer. Seriously though, what you do is on another level obviously, and it would be amazing to see some of those if you'll develop interest in them at some point and figure out how to do it, of course.

I see what you did there :)

What can you say about its replayability primarily as a solo game?
@TotallyTabledАй бұрын
I'd say a bit on the lower side as strictly a solo game. You remove 6 cards from the Oppobot deck, so it changes slightly but not a ton. The streamlining makes it easy to get to the table, but the downside is less replayability. Thanks for watching!

I'm a fan of 1960: The Making of the President and this is a fun, simpler game that gives me a similar feel, but with a solo mode and even co-op. Feels very thematic. It doesn't have the legs of 1960 or Wir Sind das Volk! but it is much more approachable. I really like it. Thanks for watching!
@CamObscura88Ай бұрын
@ I just finished the video and it really looks awesome! Much simpler to play than I expected but theme is on point. I think this is one that could only really be played solo or coop, as playing as the “no’s” would feel too weird. Have you tried the cooperative mode at all? How does that differ?
@TotallyTabledАй бұрын
Yeah, the competitive mode in these types of games feels a bit weird to me as well. With the co-op, each person takes one of the colors (yellow or purple) and each has half the hand size. I believe you share buttons. I have not played that way (I just got the game like a week or two ago) but it sounds like it would work about the same as the solo -- maybe add a bit of challenge.
