I'm going to establish something extra(not to hate on votesaxon07, just to share a little info he might not have known/left out) there are varieties of this screwdriver, the kinds with more defined crackles on the handle, ones with blue lights and no removable black cap, ones with the UV light and removable black cap, ones with lower pitched sounds, and ones with higher pitched sounds(i say this all because i have many varieties of this specific wave 1 screwdriver).

I just bought this off of amazon for $16. I was excited and I love the toy! The light is a normal blue but bottom pops off waaaay too easily. With that it plays two extra sounds that aren't even from the show.

You can superglue the bottom on or you can bluetack it on, that way you can take it off, should you wish

I got the four sounds one, on pertwees releasing the pulled down section fast enough means that the next activation will play sound 1 any idea if I can do something similar with tens because I hate the two other sounds, like you get on pertwees sonic

So I recently bought one of these and it was different. It luckily has a blue LED and pens, but I can't STAND the four different sounds, the two extra that I've never heard before. I'd be fine if the two others were secret sounds, but no, it cycles through all four. I just want the two standard buzz noises that we know and love every time I press it. Also, what EXTREMELY ticks me off is neither of the pen extensions even stay on. I'll move the sonic a little bit or bump the pen with my hand, and it FALLS OFF. I also can't hold the sonic vertically or else the slider falls back down, and sometimes the slider cap pops off when I slide it up and down. If these weren't enough, it seems I have to press the bottom button a bit hard for the sound to stay going, and the top button VERY hard for the sound to stay going. Oh, and the cap for the ballpoint pen doesn't stay on, either. I'm extremely disappointed. This does not feel like it was worth $20, more like $10 at the max. It just seems so cheaply made. What the hell.

I hate to correct you but if you buy the 10th doctors sonic now there is 4 sound effects same ones from the 3,4,5 doctors sonics, the bottom pummel doesn't open and the emitter is blue.

And the teath r allready fairly loose. I think since this video is fairly old that they may have changed the desighn to please consumers

The Doctor Back in 2007, Character Options released a version of 9 and 10's Sonic Screwdriver with the activation button on the slider. The only problem is that the slider had a lower quality texture (Just a sticker!) I don't think it had the pen or UV pen. So it probably had a blue L.E.D.

+ELnS STUDiOS. If u've seen the night of the doctor when the 8th doctor regenerated into john hurts character. Look that wasn't supposed to happen it goes. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8- war-9-10-11th-12th duh. Just look up the war doctor on tardiswikia or doctorwho wikia. He was an 8.5 regeneration the 8th doctor was to immediately regenerate into the 9th doctor

Purple light? I always change mine and make it blue myself but i had to buy this rerelease recently because mine broke, i was pleasantly surprised to find it already had a blue light.

If it's recorded with a camera, it's a purple light. When looking at it with the plain eye, it looks blue.

***** no, absolutely not. on the re-release there was first a 10th Sonic Screwdriver with purple light and only 2 sounds, like in this video. but then, they probably fixed it wihtout releasing it one more time, because the one with blue light comes with 4 sounds. my older sister traveled to England(I'm brazilian) and bought me one. I received it and the pack is exactly the same of the video (so I'm sure it's from the re-release) and it have blue light and 4 sounds. oh, and there is no that part sugesting that the screwdriver is supposed to has a pen. by the way, I took photos of my Sonic Screwdriver turned on, so I can guarantee it's actually blue, not purple. again, just to emphasize, at first it was purple or there are somes that come purple, and now it's blue.

Damn. As always, I love the design of his sonic, but this release sucks ass. I have the original release I believe. I can’t remember if it was by itself or with the journal of impossible things, but it has the pen (out of ink now) and I had the invisible ink nub but I lost it. My version has 4 or 5 different sounds. It’s so old by now that some of the paint is chipped, some parts are beat up a little bit, and I wore down the plastic bits that would keep it extended. The pen nub doesn’t even hold in that well so I superglued it a couple hours ago and have been playing around with my sonic. The electronics are starting to fail though. One wire is loose and I had to maneuver it to touch the part it needs to and now it’s held in place by one of the batteries so it works for the most part without stopping while I hold the button, but it is still fiddly.

The plastic-ness of the body makes me question the durability of it =/ my friend has the one with a pen at the bottom and holding it made me worry it can break any moment =( I have the Eleventh screwdriver (that has an actual screwdriver feature) and I can't even open it cuz it too makes me worry, Im thinking of getting another one for the sake of being able to carry this one around haha!
