@@Daniel_Capital "No one"? Are you sure? @27:40 they even mention that he was on a 27 fight unbeaten streak, and that was in 2009. Mind you, all those people are world champion level fighters/athletes. Like how many is more than "no one" for you? You think world champions fight every week or something? Also, it was clearly a case of the UFC not wanting to pay more than other promoters at the time which is why he did not fight in the UFC. I also heard there was some conflict between Fedor and Dana White (his feelings must have been hurt or something), which is real unfortunate since we as a result didn't get to see those fights during his prime time. A real tragedy if you ask me.
@Daniel_Capital

@ In Pride there were a fair share of tomato cans, also there were fixed fights in Pride. He also beat Nog and Cro Crop who were elite. All you need to know is he refused to fight in UFC despite bigger pay days because Dana was gonna put him against velasquez and all the best. So fedor goes to showtime and gets beat by tons of guys who were fired from ufc because they couldn’t win a fight. Those are facts. Fedor wasn’t good enough to fight in UFC. That’s proven by the washed up ufc fighters destroying him. Guys like Anderson dominated all the killers in UFC, it’s disrespectful to put Fedor in the same class. Fedor is for sure a legend though, don’t get it twisted

After having been a UFC fan for several years, my intro to him (and the Pride: Grand Prix tournaments) was from the first time Rogan talked about him on his podcast. I remember two things. First, he talked about the fight with Nogueira, and the insane ground & pound, especially when Nog was in the corner, eating the viscous blasts Fedor was raining down on him. The second story was about the Randleman fight, which had “the slam”, and the kimora that Fedor secured right after being dumped on his head. I had been listening to the episode, and had to wait until I got home to find those fights on KZbin. After hearing Rogan describe it, and as crazy as he made it sound, I was wondering if it was actually as bonkers as he had said it was. Well, he was right. When I was watching both of those fights, it was the first time I experienced a bit of anxiety from how brutal some of the action was. Plus, Pride rules allowed the stomps & kicks to the head, and the crowds in Japan are eerily quiet during the fights, so that definitely ratcheted up the brutality of the sport, compared to what I was used to seeing. Oddly enough, the kimora Fedor submitted was the toughest part to witness. He really wrenched Randleman’s arm & elbow, and in the quiet arena, the scream he yelled out in pain echoed throughout the building. Instantly, I was a fan, and watched a few more of his fights, a highlight reel, and a great mini-documentary on his mysterious training regiment, and the mystique of his rustic, hardened by the elements & Cold War era type lifestyle. A must watch, for any fan of Fedor, or mma in general. Btw, I somehow hadn’t seen the fight, or any of the footage from his fight with Herring, until just now. Holy shit, was that an epic, one-sided ass-kicking. That was a career altering fight for Herring, who quickly learned how badly outclassed he was, and wore it smeared all over his face. So scary!

I remember Fedor being so unbelievably respectful of everyone, and showing true concern and respect for other fighters who he thought he might've hurt during the fight. The way he let go of Randleman's arm, after the submission, holding it, and placing it in a position next to his body, hoping he wasn't hurt, and not wanting to cause any damage. I love how Randleman picked him up, and put him over his shoulder, holding his arm up, showing how much respect he had for Fedor. That big smile that came over Fedor's face was great! I can't remember what Fedor said verbatim about Fujita's punch, but it was something to the effect that he had never been hit that hard in his life, and said he hit like a mule! There will never be another Fedor. Poise, confidence, humble, kind, respectful, and an insanely talented fighter. I'm happy to have watched him through all the years, from the beginning. Jon Jones may be a badass, but he, as far as being the GOAT, no. Fedor emobodied what a GOAT REALLY is.

one of the things I loved about Fedor was that he wasn't complacent. Like, he gets out of Nog's armbar attempt and immediately looks for an opening to kick him in the head. And the way he did it wasn't unhinged in the way we thought of Vanderlei. It was just like a focused machine. @@MasculinityMindset the thing is Fedor’s demeanour, body language and expression bely the absolute monster inside. No shouting, teeth baring or animated histrionics. Just the relaxed, down to earth and measured entrance to the ring. Comfortable in his own skin and yet the assured knowledge he is absolutely the hardest meanest and toughest human being in any setting.

The torque that he gets on his punches is just sheer madness. Watching him devour Goodrich was difficult to believe even as it happened . . . man vs. child. And Big Daddy was no child!

His punches don't get nearly the credit they deserve IMO. He was a master of perfect timing and throwing punches from anywhere. And they always looked soft and relaxed but landed like meteors. He looked like a construction worker or something, not very impressive by MMA standards even at the time. But he flowed like water, could strike from any position with perfect timing and penetration, and his grappling and anti grappling skills were unbelievable. Still my all time favorite by a wide mile.

he leans in so much more than anyone I have ever seen, in slow mo they almost look like super man punches , he just puts so much into each one. No wonder so many folded after he connected with their chin. If that didn't do it people tapped awfully fast in his arm bars

@@m3rked_playz would have been an amazing fight mate - Fedor is as good as Jones on the ground and probably hit harder in stand up. Hard to pick. Massive difference in character as well. Hard to find two more different men in the fight game.
