In this video we paint and assemble the cockpit and paint up most of the parts that are of the same color of the cockpit of TAMIYAs Vought F4U-1A Corsair in 1/48 Scale.
The Vought F4U-1A Corsair, also known as the "Corsair", was developed in the early part of WWII as a carrier aircraft in response to the Zero. It was found that the Corsair had poor visibility and would stall the left wing in a slow approach for landing. However, it really came into its own being based on island airstrips in the pacific. The British also used the Corsair from aircraft carriers and solved the approach and stall problem in carrier landings.
This is kit No. 61070
I hope you enjoy the video!

Loved your first video in this series! I’m getting back into scale modeling after many years (decades?) absence (although I did spend a good 15 years building and painting miniatures for tabletop Wargames such as Warhammer 40,000 and Dropzone Commander!), and my first model is this one, so I’m very grateful for your detailed yet simple walk thru. Looking forward to the rest of the series, and, yes, I’ve subscribed! Cheers!

Nice presentation, Johnny. It looks like a very nice kit and the way it's coming together seems to be very good. I do like the yellow/green colour and it produces quite a nice contrast with the other colours in the cockpit. Looking forward to Friday!

Looking good, Johnny. You're right about post-war aircraft, I've helped restore an f4 fantom Vietnam era. And a b40 bomber, and we just went with what we had for reference. Have a wonderful weekend.

I've heard that from lots of resources about the paint used in restorations and in museums, thanks so much for confirming it for me Jimmy. You're very lucky to have been involved in those restorations, thank you for your work my friend. Have a great weekend! Johnny

Hi Johnny, thst is great progress on the Corsair, it has been one of my favourite WWII aircraft for many years, one reason being that the RNZAF(Royal New Zealand Air Force) flew them in the Pacific, best regards from a New Zealander living in Australia, Les

Nice presentation Johnny. I really like your casual manner and clear instruction. I also, prefer the speed that you use unlike some who do a speed up, making it difficult to see the technique one is trying to learn. Like you the Corsair is a favorite so I really enjoyed this. Thanks.

Thank you very much Jim! That's a wonderful complement my friend. I think we should share as much as we can as modelers, I've never understood the "old guard" mentality where some modelers want to keep their methods a secret, LOL. I'm glad you enjoyed the build so far, take care and model on!! Johnny

Most of the good photos I found on the internet had those horrible copyright printing across the photos, so I didn't feel that I should risk having my video pulled down because of copyright infringement. But you can easily find those photos, just google "photos of corsair cockpits" and you'll find what you're looking for. Thanks for watching, take care. Johnny

Awesome job, Johnny! Totally different question for you today: in every start and ending of your vids we can see the shelving behind you, and over your left shoulder is a stack of kits visible. On the bottom of the stack is a Trumpeter kit (under the Takom one) - what is that? Have a nice week, see ya Friday🙂

@@MikeUSA67 Actually, I was in the process of collecting pics and doing my research for this build when Night Shift posted his first vid on his build. So, I shelfed the idea of this build, having to many builds of the same model at the same time wasn't a good idea. That was my thinking at the time. I just haven't gotten back to it yet 😊
