Thanks for making this. I was following the instructions on the website, but there was no mention that the console needed to be upside down. This video definitely clarified that for me.

Just did this mod. Freakin so awesome. Colors look much more vibrant on a CRT. Clarity is better too, but my god, when paired with the Retrotink 5X on a modern TV, the clarity is so significantly better. Thanks for the tutorial vid!

Sir Voultar doesn't ship in Europe/UK.This boards worked on 1Chip PAL/Ntsc SNES consoles. 1CHIP 01 / 1CHIP 02 witch is on (PAL/JAP consoles - but you must search on the back of your console and if the serial number starts with ... UP17 .... or UP18..... is this board -> SNSP-CPU-1CHIP-01/ or 1-CHIP-02 and will WORK , if will be under than that numbers will not work) / and NTSC 1CHIP 03 either. Cheers !

I have seen some explanations of this mod pull the C-Sync signal from the S-RGB A chip rather than the through-hole shown in this video. Is there a reason for this? Note: I think these mods did not use the same board here.
@Voultar
@Voultar 7 жыл бұрын
You can certainly do that! Pulling C-Sync of of the S-RGB encoder provides an additional "buffer" between the ASIC and the source termination. But if you do things on the mod that mitigates current sink for 75Ω load terminations (like I do) you can safely pull it directly off of the ASIC. Either are just fine.

it’s probably not much water and it probably makes the alcohol not evaporate so fast so you can get more cleaning time. I doubt the water makes much difference, unless you plug it back in and turn it on before it’s dry LOL

You should use a 10-bit linear interpolation current steering digital to analog converter (DAC) and a Gilbert cell mixer to generate an RF amplitude modulated signal directly. The linear interpolation increases the attenuation of the DAC's image components.

Phew, Voultar works fast! I find 310 works for me on smaller through-hole/wire work & 300-305 on typical "beginner" SMD jobs like electrolytics and larger pitch IC's. This is with a pointed tip although I need to invest in some other types as the thermal mass isn't the best. It's a personal preference thing really though IMO, with the caveat of using the lowest temp you're getting consistent work at.

I noticed u dragged rgb signal right across the board, on top of many other signals. Your rgb signal is without shielding, if you do everything for a quality, you completely forgot that video cables can pick noice from other magnetic fields, usually small ghosting happens.
