Sound /h/ is a back vowel?

/H/ is a consonant sound. A consonant is any letter in the alphabet that is not a vowel (vowels = a, e, i, o, u). The H sound is a voiceless or unvoiced sound. This means that your vocal chords do not vibrate when you make this sound. The /h/ sound is called the “voiceless glottal fricative,” which means that the sound is made with the motion of your vocal chords but is not voiced. The /h/ sound is made through the mouth and is Aspirated, which means air comes out of your mouth as you say the sound and you do not vibrate your vocal chords but it is defined by the position of your vocal chords, because it is a fricative. Fricatives are characterised by a “hissing” sound which is produced by the air escaping through a small passage in the mouth.There are a total of nine fricative consonants in English: /f, θ, s, ∫, v, ð, z, З, h/, and eight of them (all except for/h/) are produced by partially obstructing the airflow through the oral cavity.

"u" in but produce sound“अ” , while pronouncing but and “अ” sound is very fast when we pronounce *but* . You can check it by speaking but, same in cut, son With "o":O adjacent to "m": comfortable /ˈkʌmftəbəl/, /ʌ/: Used in words like “cut”, “mutt”, “butter”, “nun” or “luck” /ə/: Used in words like “sofa”, “photograph”, or “adore”

The /ʌ/ vowel is a mid-central sound. This means it is made with the tongue mostly relaxed, and at the center of the mouth . Your tongue should be at mid-height in the mouth, and your lips should be partially open. /ʌ/ can appear at the beginning, middle, or end of a word./ʌ/ - the UH Vowel. /ʌ/ is a short vowel sound pronounced with the jaw mid to open, the tongue central or slightly back, and the lips relaxed. It’s a good idea to be comfortable with their pronunciation. For example : shut, cut , bun, flood, etc. /ə/ sound is often called the schwa sound, as in the words: a /ə/ the /ðə/ about /əbaʊt/ The schwa sound is spelled in lots of different ways. Sometimes with the letter ‘u’ as in the word: just /dʒəst/ It is also very often spelled with the letters ‘e-r’. As in the word: other /‘ʌðə/ it can also be spelled with the letters ‘o-u’ as in the word: could /kəd/ Lots of words end with this sound, for example never /’nevə/ after /’ɑːftə/ under /ˈʌndə/ another/ə’nʌðə/
