Both of our sets of parents had bitter divorces and were sure we'd "come to our senses" before too long. That was almost 33 years ago. Sometimes, making sure they were wrong about us comes in handy (LOL).

My brother married a lovely lady in 2008 who had an seven-year-old daughter. They too included her in their wedding vows. Her daughter and my brother have been very close over the years. She once said to her mom that she wished that my brother was her real dad. To this day my brother brags to anyone who will listen how great his daughter is. God bless them all.

August 19 is special to me also. My husband was born on that day. Our son was shot & killed. Had to raise money to put him down so when the cemetery asked what day I wanted to put him down I said August 19 not realizing that was his dads birthday. His sister said it was meant to be that day.
