Wah is designed to be impedance sensitive so it will have a wider and smoother sweep seeing the guitar first… any pedal activated before the wah will act as a buffer and reduce the impedance sensitivity for the wah, thus limiting the smoothness, expression and the sweep of the wah… thats why you hear the sweep becoming jumpy in this demo once he puts the overdrive on before the wah

I’m just starting to learn about pedals. So if you had a pedal board you could could put your wah before or after all of your other pedals. Right?

Yup, exactly! Most guitar players like their wah first in their pedal chain, but you can place before, after, or even between two other pedals.

Same deal,- except many Wahs have poor buffers that totally change, or actually choke out, many traditional Fuzz circuits.Some newer, better ,Wah designs address this this, and some Fuzzes even have their own buffers to counter act the impedance disparity. IMO, best choice is always sandwiched in between compatible designs.
