honestly sounds a little thin. The mid- low end comes across as muddy and not very well defined, but the highs are squacky and throaty. Maybe it's the p90-hollowbody combo? Or maybe just the crappy youtube audio
@BrianSmith-ow9gy12 сағат бұрын
Not as helpful as it could be. It's all very well going on about sounds etc but the first and primary issue is connectivity; what can you plug in and what output options do you have. These get a bare mention right at the end of the vid. Someone at VOX needs to give their head a wobble and turn down the bragging rights in favour of the practicalities. Disappointed.

I love the idea of the Starstream guitar! It is so close to really being usable. PLEASE try one more time! Make a "Type 1++" or a "Type 2". I want to be able to play regular electric guitar sounds AND synth AND acoustic AND 12-string sounds.

The next gen of the nutube pedals should come with digital IR/digital cab sim. The cab sim on the current pedals is just an analog EQ type cab sim, I think. Only mentioning this because the Fuel Injector here is plugged into the silk drive and that's what kind of cab sim we are hearing in this video.
@HEZ633 күн бұрын
Already had some Nutube pedals, but they did not really convince me much. This one seems to sound nice here, really awesome also not, but maybe I give it a chance.
@ryanteacher81342 күн бұрын
Which one did you have?
@HEZ632 күн бұрын
@@ryanteacher8134 Korg Nu-Tekt OD-S and TR-S. The 1st generation Valvenergies I did not try, as the demos did not convince me so much and at this time I still had some Vox Tone Garage pedals with real tubes, which I liked more. I like the Nutube idea, but up to now I have not found a product with them, which really seriously can compete with classic tube gear circuits soundwise. Also some gimmicks like the visual display are not very interesting for me. Another aspect, all Nutubes sound the same, opposite to classic tubes, where I can replace them with different types or brands, to get slightly different sounds.
@ryanteacher81342 күн бұрын
@@HEZ63 I haven't tried any of the nu-tube vox ones. I think the demos don't do them justice, because like in this video, they are using the cab sim on them. The cab sim on them, as far as I know, is just a simple EQ cab sim. Not a true one. I have the yellow Vox Tone Garage valve boost pedal (flat 4, I think the name is). It's an excellent boost pedal, and it even works as a fantastic drive.

They do. Vox MV50 series, Mini Super Beetle, and the MVX150.

Well, with that styling it might cut in front of the Grey Korg one on my list. So far I have only obtained the Red Harmonic Distortion*. I keep having to buy amps that cost as much as ten pedals. Even a couple that cost as much as Klons, I just have a limited budget, but 2025 is looking better. *three more of those wanted, actually, its complicated..

Great player for the demo. Would not put the pedal on my board even if it were free. IDK why, but Vox seems to struggle to produce good sounding stomp boxes. They have some great classic designed amps, and a cool wah. Anything else they seem to make is just cheap sounding and feeling. The pedal has a screen that adds nothing but cost to the whole product.

I love the nutube stuff, I own two mini superbeetles (for stereo or part of a WDW setup or for the full 50w of one of the two amps) and the silk and mystic edge drives. The silk drive I use mostly in preamp mode into the loop of a Roland JC40, I like them all a lot. This new stuff looks good too

Never understood why you have to have delay and reverb after distortion. Surely it doesn't make a difference.

Chalk and cheese. I have an AC30 TB 1997 with blue speakers but originally with greenbacks. The blues give a much richer sound but maybe a bit sharp on the treble strings. I think the greenbacks are slightly better for overdriven tones but the original purpose of the blues which were fitted to almost all the original amps was to generate clean tones. Overdrive was unthought of in 1959 and so the blues for clean are by a distance much better and well worth the extra money, particularly with single coil p/us. They sound even better if you can get hold of some original Mullard/Philips preamp valves
@starshineraiser672912 күн бұрын
Vox is my favorite amplifier brand. This sounds great and the Mystic is one of the best pedals ever made. I just wish that you would reissue amps like the Cambridge 15 with the tube in preamp, something simple with retro looks, no built in multi effects. Imagine a mini AC30/15 looking amp with a good 1x8 speaker, two band EQ, spring reverb, tube tremolo. I’d pay anything you ask because my Cambridge 15 is one of the most incredible things I’ve ever heard.
