This video is the pinnacle of laziness on the part of directors/producers of superhero movies. They get to set with a half-baked vision of how they want the scene to play out, and then completely change their minds and make the VFX artists recreate and replace everything when the director changes their mind. In the early days of VFX, directors had to be incredibly cautious about how and what VFX they were going to use, and planned out frame by frame exactly what to capture on set. Now every superhero movie is 95% green screen shots, and it really shows. That's why Jurassic Park holds up way better than the new Jurassic World movies. It's no surprise as to why Marvel movies cost $100 million dollars to make. Paying for a dozen VFX studios and thousands and thousands of VFX artists to do the work directors are too lazy to do themselves costs a lot of money.
@prayashshrestha2 жыл бұрын
A lot of talks about "vision" lately. All directors have some sort of creative vision. Without it none of the vfx shots would play out as planned. Vfx artist needs something to work on the dont create tandom stuff out of thin air to make a movie. Its seems as if you havent watched the video properly enough when there was multiple mentions of directors using vfx shots to recreate the exact scene as they want even at the end stage of production. And its not just about money. Compare the budget of Captain America Civil war and Batman v superman both at 250 mil. But one has 4 times the success than the other one.

But for a scene where the character is just standing there or speaking to someone I don't understand why they use a CG character. That makes the movies feel soulless and sterile. Movies are movies. Just because they use a lot of effects doesn’t mean audiences are any less connected to the story. And a superhero movie can still be “about something,” like Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Shang-chi.

@@aresef Yeah I agree if it's entertaining then who cares. But these superhero movies are mass produced, yes some a fun to watch, but they don't really carry any symoblic meaning or life lesson that good stories usually bring fourth.

@@Kryptix hmmm, would've agreed until the last part, marvel movies bring a lot of stories to the table. In fact that's pretty much the only thing they do, and movies are often so much more, camera angles, composition, colours and visuals which marvel movies actually do have albeit CG
