This guy has broke the system of Spider-man cosplaying and inspairational towards other impossible looking cosplays. Most projects cost £300+ but, Sean, your intelligence problem solving and creativity is genius to the point where something £1000+ can cost pennies to make and yet you share it with everyone. I hope you get the recognition you deserve in the cosplaying community as you obviously seem like a down to earth humble guy. Keep up great work.

This is definitely a vast improvement in terms of accuracy over the previous version. It may lack all of the fun moving parts, but it looks simply amazing. From what I can see, however, it seems to be a pretty snug fit. Is there a reason why your head is held at such an angle when you're wearing it? I have a suggestion regarding the magnets. For a helmet I've done (Ultraman from the ULTRAMAN anime on Netflix), I decided to make the face piece detachable via magnets. The best way I've figured to get the right alignment without much trial and error is to make matching pattern pieces for either side. So, what I would do is put a piece of paper on the face shell, trace the lens shape, and map out where I'd want the magnets to go (within the black borders, along the edges); dotting or drawing the placement. Then, I'd cut out those dots, which serve as the magnet layout. I would cut out that traced lens shape and use that pattern for both the face shell and the lenses. I'll try my best to make a video of that whole concept when I get around to finally making a Spider-Man mask.

I'm so excited to make this!!! I'm 19 and a cosplayer. I've been cosplaying since I was 14 which means I have been a broke cosplayer this whole time. I figured out how to make things from random stuff from around my house. I love prop making tho and have tried my best at cosplay. I've wanted to cosplay spiderman for a long time but don't have 170 bucks to drop on a face shell or lenses. And I am saving for a suit but that's about how far my money is gonna go. So this is super helpful and I'm really hoping I'll be able to make it!!! I don't have a lot of experience doing actual proper work on anything (I've had to wing kinda everything. One of my best props was me screwing around with cardboard, a broken hanger, a straw, an empty Altoids can, some leftover eva foam scraps, old clay from school, plastic from a box, and dollar tree fairy lights... It's chaos but hey it turned out ok) while I'm inexperienced tho you do explain everything so well and I think I can maybe do this now! Also this'll help so much with my mask making! @amonaalyka Жыл бұрын
If anyone is wondering about the math from his vid, let me try to explain it. If you use head circumference (you measure your head overall in a circle) it's going to be too big, for example, if your overall head "width" is around 56cm, the mask will be as big as the Hulks head. To put in the math, 560 / 160 x 100 = 350 in tile scale. THAT'S 42 PAGES. your beautiful head doesn't need that much paper. Head width ≠ Head circumference. So you need to measure it from ear to ear, so example, if your overall head CIRCUMFERENCE and not WIDTH is 56cm, divide that number by 2, which gives you 28cm. Edit, so that's 280 / 160 x 100 = 175 But ngl, this for me, it's still too big Fun fact, I managed to measure mine with a head width of 33 cms, and when I plug in the math, thats 330 / 160 x 100 = 207 yeeeeaaaahhhhh still too big I'll probably try it with normal scale at 100% and update from there. The template, awesome, wunderbar, a freaking help ffs, but my lord does the math don't math in my head. I feel dumb just calculating it, and I don't need anyone else besides me telling me I'm more stupid than I already am. Update, I printed out the scale in 100% no dilly dally whatsover and it fits perfectly like a glove, all those papers that I printed out in 350% and 207% all gone to waste.
@gahu3894 Жыл бұрын
Bro I'm 16 and I tried with 100%, my face is not too big but the faceshell is too short. I think you must increase your tile scale more If you older than me or your face bigger than (Width: 160mm)
@amonaalyka Жыл бұрын
@@gahu3894for me, it's literally trial and error. since even if I do the math 100% correct, it would still be too big. I'm actually 25 years old and I just used a tile of about 150-160% and that's still too big / too long for me. So I'm going to try with both 100%, which is the normal tile scale and a scale that you suggested with a head width of 150-160mm which if I put it in the math is around 94% in tile scale (150 / 160 x 100 = 94%, 160 / 160 x 100 = 100%) This is not my head width AT ALL, but will give it a shot

for the puffy paint. Try a basketball air pump needle, or an 18gauge IV needle 🤷🏽♂️. Not sure if the paint is too thick for those needles, but it would definitely give it that flat like look. Especially with the beveled IV needle

Hi Sean! This faceshell looks amazing, what an awesome job! I have a problem with my measures. My head circunference is 540 mm and I don't know how to use the formula. I've tried to calculate and the result is 337.5. If I do it with the distance from ear to ear (250 mm), the result is 156,25. Is it wrong? Thank you and keep doin' this kind of stuff!!!! 😁

When I made my mask, I put a half inch lip underneath the eye edges, and it made it easier to attach the magnets.
