Hey! Great tutorial. I have one question though, when I copy a Model in the Library to make it the leg/arm/etc. it changes the name for all the models, it is really weird. Any idea?
@Voxelize5 жыл бұрын
Which version are you on? I noticed that in 0.9.0 too (whoops, I mean 0.12.0, I started recording this on 9, but before I finished 12 was released. I think this was an issue with both). It’s partially visible in the video if you watch real closely before I cut to editing the models. If you close and restart the program, the names should be correct and match whatever the VXMs are called in your file browser.

sorry but just a couple questions for one how can I get the transform tool ? second when I do go to place a child node under but one same level as another one it goes below it but not same level. lastly when I do things in model mode it doesn't save but only saves in rig when I do the modeling first in that section. thanks sorry for all the questions just trying to figure things out and get better at it.

Hi Kevin, if you’re looking in the modeler, there’s not a transform tool yet, but you can move all voxels with the arrows in the upper right corner of the 3D view, and rotate them with the buttons in the menu bar. In the rigger mode, on the top menu bar to the left side are three buttons: move, rotate, and scale. I explain these and the difference between global and local mode at about 2:33 Just make sure you have the object you want to move selected. The transform panel shown in this video is not released yet. The next update should be coming soon. As far as I know, the only way to move nodes is to attach them to a parent. I will be demonstrating this in my next video. Basically. If you have have a child node, and you want to move it up to the next level, same as it’s parent, drag the child to it’s “grandparent”, or the parent of the parent node. So you can have: Root>Node1>Node2 Drag Node2 over Root, now you have: Root>Node1,Node2 For your last question, I’m having trouble understanding. You made a rig, made a new model, and the model isn’t saving? Or you made a model and it’s not showing up in your rigging library?

thanks that explains a lot with the first two questions after looking at it and getting a better understanding for the last question I mean I created a model in the after clicking the modeler and It did not save it however going to the rig and doing the same thing it saved I was confused on how the fist one didn't but second did thanks and enjoying the videos@@Voxelize

Kevin Thibodeau when you first click on the modeler mode, it should ask you where you want to save. You can’t start a model without having VXM file already created. Clicking the save button will just update that VXM file you created. So unless you exited the program without saving, any work you did on that model should be saved. Try looking at your recent files on the welcome screen to see if it’s there.

Kevin Thibodeau you’re welcome! I haven’t heard word on a release, but I think it will be pretty soon. There’s a couple broken UI elements in the version I recorded with, and some bugs to squash, but I think for the most part this version is ready to go.

Can I mirror an arm or a leg from here to do left and right from only one?
@Voxelize5 жыл бұрын
Baron Jack there is no mirroring option in this version, but the new beta coming out any day now has mirroring so you can build a single leg and flip it with then rig.

How to unlock scale?
@Voxelize5 жыл бұрын
JediMan scale can’t be unlocked yet. Because they show the three inputs I think it will be unlocked later, but for now it’s not an option.

@@Voxelize hey guys, any news about scaling? it's one of the basic features and still not available..

@@kulimanga sorry that was a very old reply. After this scaling was totally removed for both technical and style reasons.
