For those who are looking into this issue, for blurry there should be two steps I found working: 1. change the filter mode to Point(no filter). 2 Compression- change it to none. And Max Size, if the original is 256*256, you could still make it 256 to save space.
I doubt you can do it at all with AI yet. Everything I've seen of AI trying to do actual 3D models has been absolutely unusable trash in game engines. Which is fine by me, I have fun doing this. AI can wash my dishes instead.

There’s no direct way to get GLTF files into VoxEdit. You could extract meshes through Blender, export to OBJ, and voxelize the meshes to VOX format in MagicaVoxel, and assemble the VOX in VoxEdit but you’d need to reconstruct the rigging, animation, and color.

You might want to update you’re video drivers or make sure that your browser is set to use GPU acceleration to to make sure the audio doesn’t desync. You could also try lowering the video playback resolution.

This is great, but you only really need the middle tile copied 4 times. The other tiles are meant to be edge tiles which are not important to the final result.

Right hello, i really enjoy your tutorials and ive searched several videos to not find an answer to this so heres my question: if you make your characters/animations from scratch how do you name them so that they work in game (like if you have a character running ho do u name it in the animation menu so that the animation works in the sandbox) and can you make custom animations that trigger at certain times (like different idles for when ur afk)

Sorry I didn’t see this before. MagicaVoxel has had some updates since this was made. You might try pressing Tab to back up to the World Editor and delete the original cube. Drag the PNG into the empty space.

There’s lots of ways to create. I usually start with an idea and think about how big it needs to be in Sandbox scale (32 voxels to 1 meter). Then I’ll block out the shapes, refine the design, split it apart for rigging, and go from there. If you’re just starting I recommend checking out the templates and working on designs with a prebuilt rig so you learn how things connect.

There is no scaling anymore. You can line up overlapping blocks of the same color and move them apart for the appearance of scaling, but it is limited and needs a lot more nodes.

This video is very old. VoxEdit now fully supports the MagicaVoxel "scene" type VOX format. Meaning you can have any number of objects in a MagicaVoxel file, open it with the VoxEdit Animator "import VOX" and it will generate a rig with all of the objects attached.

Good information but Sandbox is a pathetic joke. Users can play a couple crappy mini-games that are worse than Roblox, and apart from that, it's just a NFT store. And that's all you can do. @@Voxelize As you mentioned in another comment, Sandbox has 40 "player" instance limits. A user cap that they don't really need to worry about in a "game" which features a few mini-games in the style of an unfinished Unity project, and oh boy, NFT monkeys. It's a virtual NFT store, not a user experience. Sandbox looks great as a niche Voxel "game" but Minecraft and Second Life are LIGHT YEARS ahead in user experience, functionality, gameplay, scalability, server caps, and pretty much everything.

I ended up having to abandon this project because the Game Maker guidelines for size and detail came down while I was still working on this. We don’t recommend over 5000 faces and this one has something like 18 million.

@@shayansep755 I'd simply keep smaller blocks of the same color overlapping and move them further apart as they go up to mimic the effect of scaling. With a shape as fluid as smoke you don't even have to keep them lined up straight, introduce some wiggle for more texture.

How can I convert the texture of a 3d scanned shape to voxels and then cut it so that the color has a visible thickness?

The only tool I know of off the top of my head that supports taking textures from meshes and turning them into color voxels is Qubicle. If you buy through Steam it's an added DLC - a fairly expensive tool but useful if you need to do that sort of conversion a lot. It's last update was 2017 though, so beware there might not be a lot of support left for this tool.

hey man I'd appreciate it alot if I could get a response .. I've been wanting to make games and assets on sandbox, but I played some games on game maker and see the Alpha packages dropping and can't help but feel late. When is the game coming out to everyone? and is too late to get in the creator program and be able to make serious money when it all rolls out

It’s not too late at all! The Sandbox is a whole creative ecosystem. “Launch” will be opening up the system for everyone to access. Anyone will be able to mint and sell assets for anyone to use while playing and making games. You don’t need LAND to build or share games, only to publish to the map with options for monetization and multiplayer. So building in the free gallery is a great way to practice and get attention for LAND owners looking for game architects to work with. Opportunities have only just barely started to open up. I plan on still being here in ten years.

There’s no direct conversion from Blender to VoxEdit. You’ll have to export BLEND to OBJ and open in MagicaVoxel or Qubicle. Then export VOX and open in VoxEdit. I should this at about 3:45 I mention how there is an unused OBJ import menu, which still has not been developed.

Depends on how you’re trying to do it. You can use the selection tool and the edit menu to copy and paste parts in the modeler. If you want to copy a rigged limb you can duplicated the node and movie it to the other side. Then duplicate the leg model and flip it, and attach that to the new node. Go to the settings (I think under the file menu) and switch to a different background color. The grid should appear correctly after that.
