Right hello, i really enjoy your tutorials and ive searched several videos to not find an answer to this so heres my question: if you make your characters/animations from scratch how do you name them so that they work in game (like if you have a character running ho do u name it in the animation menu so that the animation works in the sandbox) and can you make custom animations that trigger at certain times (like different idles for when ur afk)

hi i had a question about making the avatars Can we make them for example glide or hover on air instead of walking or crawling or whatever... Or we have to make the avatars on the already made templates of the voxedit ? i mean can we attach our own movement behavior to the movement of the game ?

Thx for the video! here is my question: if I make a chest part, but want to make the sleeves as wearable so that I don't get mismatch with the skin later, how do I go about making these three different pieces ( 2sleeves + chest) one unique asset in the market? I don't want to sell all of them apart. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm very new to this process.

It's not a dumb question. We don't have this yet. We're working on updates to the equipment system that will provide more flexibility. Right now sleeved chest equipment are not possible.

how do you make the backpack as shown in video? 2:23 I can't add nodes to templates.

The backpack in this video is part of the torso, modeled directly to the chest node. That character is an NPC. For a metaverse avatar you'd want to model the backpack as a torso equipment template, not as part of the body, so the avatar can equip armor or backpacks as separate things. If you are designing a game you can set a specific model as the player, including one with a backpack modeled on to the torso, just know that it could interfere with armor designs you want players to equip like the wizard hat with the helmet as shown in that same scene. As for adding nodes to templates, this is by design. The point of templates is to keep animations compatible and if you add nodes, new animations wouldn't work with the enhanced model. Breaking templates may be supported in the future but it will mean your creations can't receive animation updates. Metaverse avatars will not support this at all as the mix and match body part system does not store animations on its own - those come from the game maker so the body part must conform to the default template.

Does anybody know if the option to export to obj will return?

I thought it was still there, just only for single models. OBJ does not support rigs or animations. You could export as DAE, then merge the objects into a single mesh in blender. But you’ll need to figure out a way to merge the textures.
