Mam, you are simply the best teacher I ever met.... your knowledge and express the concept in a way that even a layman can catch that so quickly...wonderful !!!

Thank you for sharing. Some notes are quite distinct. But at higher speeds it sounds as if the distinction between m and M, d and D and n an N is very subtle and gets blurred for the untrained ears. A great training to sensitise our ears.

This video lesson is absolutely relevant for all self learners like me. Can't find any video in this reg from any other channels on music. You have clearly shown the differentiation on each Swara, how the pitch goes higher on each note and how it should be achived with slight voice modulation. I am practicing in key board and the pitch variation is clearly heard on keys. But how the semitone variation can be applied vocally is clearly demonstrated by you. You certainly read the minds of students and their basic doubts and strive to solve that. Definitely this clarity on how the Swaras to be expressed with right pitch variation is foundation to move further.Thank you very much. 🙏

Thank you akka, for telling me how to practice those 12 swaras. I practiced everyday and now I know how to sing 12 swaras in the advanced super speed. But I'm only getting how to sing in Aarohana but not Avarohana. I wish you'll make a video that how to sing 12 swaras in Avarohana. Once again, thank you!

This is fascinating for several reasons, but primarily for me as I read in Louis Spohr's autobiography that for his first Violin lesson he learned the G# Accord. I always thought this meant an arpeggio, but maybe his teacher had learned music in India? Also if you are taught to read the notes at the same time it will include the F double sharp, which if you learn double sharps later they present a stumbling block. I will definitely recommend your video to my students, but I will suggest they use the numbers 2 thru 12, and use the Key name for 1, as I think our American minds are already familiar with this concept as related to distance in time or inches and won't have to struggle learning new names for things.

Of course . This can be practised using harmonium or keyboard , however once you master this on your respective instruments , you should start doing without them use tanpura for reference and pratice .
