Tippecanoe did not lead to the war of 1812. That's inaccurate. Tecumseh was not negotiating in good faith and attempted to nullify all past treaties and was, in actuality, playing for time so he could create an alliance of indian tribes to make war. Harrison moved first and defeated the indian confederation - a battle started by the indians - led by Tecumseh's brother, a shaman who promised them victory an immunity from American musket balls.

That battle in general did not lead to the war in 1812 but it was definitely another reason that war was made.
