Australia's 2023 ‪@EurovisionSongContest‬ entrant, the progressive synth-pop metal quintet VOYAGER are giving their ninth-most qualified takes on the 2024 Eurovision official entrants!
We're going back to our painfully-too-distant childhoods to reminisce about our favourite operating systems as we subject our unprepared minds and bodies to "No Rules!" by ‪@Windows95manofficial‬ - what insanity hath Finland wrought this year?!

Interesting fact - the falsetto guy, Henri Piispanen, is one of the producers of No Rules who got roped into performing after helping on the demo. He also does voice acting and can be heard in the Finnish version of Bluey (Aussie Award winning animated tv show).

In Finnish selection the televote has 70% percent of the power. Maybe it is not just choosing "same type as Käärijä", but just choosing the entertaining fun stuff? Because that is how Finnish people are. A stoic and seriousw outside with a fun loving party animal inside. I feel now the Finnish people are sending the acts we want to send to be entertained and nobody actually care about winning. Because that in itself would also be pretty much in line with the Finnish mentality.

Thank you for this comment! This year, Finnish voters don't care about juries, it is only about being happy with representing Finland and Finnish taste. Playing for the juries is not what anyone wants to do anymore. Teemu and Henri capture everyone's hearts when they're on stage and that's more satisfying and entertaining than sending a pretty radio ballad the juries like.

Thank you for your reaction! You found some ideas behind the song and the staging, but let me explain with more details! It’s an anthem for being who you are 🌈🎉🎊 And at the same time it’s a birth story based on Kalevala, the Finnish mythology🦅🥚 I like the message of the song and how it combines the Finnish mythodology Kalevala where the world is created from the goldeneye’s’ egg. In the stage performance the singer Henri represents the bird (see the similarity of the movements the clothing and Kalevala inspired boots) and the Windows95man is born (as all humans) naked. The stage coordinator tries in the middle of the song give the rules to our hero but he throws those in the air. He doesn’t know he cannot be naked! The camera men and their angels try to hide him! He wants to be free and understand who he is despite what the others want him to be! Finally his jorts descent from the heaven (mythodology) and our guy becomes Windows95man and starts the party with cheerful fireworks!💥 DJ Windows95man have been dj:ing now 11 years already and he is also a visual artist and using Windows95man outfit (denim shorts and windows95 t-shirt and cap) since over a decade. Henri Piispanen is professional singer and voice actor. Check out KZbin for his bands “Pasa” and "Kontio Polar". The guys met while doing this project and liked each other’s and decided to participate in ESC. The people of Finland want people to have fun and if we win we do it our way. We once did it with Lordi 2006 - but do you know why? Since that year they didn't have juries, only public voting! Windows95mans win has nothing to do with Käärijä as finnish people wanted to send song to the Eurovision that people like and represent the Finns - a little strange, crazy but funny (the happiest country in the world for 7 years now)! 🎊🎉🤩 Believe in love, share happiness, don’t take ESC too serious - enjoy and have fun! 😃

The Bee for example is about the story of how god Ukko sent a bee to blow life back in Lemminkäinen after his mother had fetched him back from Tuonela (the place where dead go) and sewing him back together. Silent Waters was about this story too, but from the mother's pov.

Watching UMK live was quite something. Windows96Man (Teemu Keisteri) came last in the jury vote but then swept the televote to win by 40 points. Also, the uncredited singer is voice actor Henri Piispanen. He initially agreed to record the demo but said that he would not record the official version or perform it live. Teemu, however, thought that Henri was the perfect fit for the song and didn't think that anyone could perform it as well as him, so quite sneakily released the demo as the official studio version and convinced Henri to join him on stage

Im an old Eurovision kind of guy, I dont listen to any of the entries until semifinal 1. Only the swedish one ofcouse, me being swedish and all watching Melodifestival, so I know our song before. I grew up when there was no internet and if the artists played their song before Eurovision week they got DQ:ed, and there were no semifinals back then. Only between 19 to 23 countries were competing, it was in the time when there was Sovjet Union and Yugoslavia instead all all the countries that we have now. My first Eurovision that I saw and understood what it was, was back in 1981 when I was 9.
