Great work and much appreciate the general run down on Oscars. I love the "Loop Systems" for hearing aids on these trains. Even on some suburban services...even non Oscars. Not on Tangara's sadly! I still hate the non-reversible seats (Tangaras and some others)but I know I have gone down that road before. Thanks for all the descriptions in print as I am deaf. I would still love to do another trip to Newcastle and back but the TIME!! I know there is the odd faster than fast trips to and from Newcastle if I could get lucky.

the OSCArs have been my favourite at first site, as a kid i catched measily suburban tangara, k set, s set, c set, m set and ocasional waratahs (they were new or not in service) but one day my parents decided to catch a train from platform 1 at straithfield (where v set, oscar ususally arrive on) and i caught an oscar, it was my first time on a train with tall seating (for my short height back then) and it sounded good. also the loud door slam is a nice thing because it sounds nice to me lol
