I literally cannot even count how many times I have found myself hitting a wall when working on a project at work and was able to move past it and solve my problem solely due to watching videos from KZbin. And, almost all of them were uploaded by one of four channels that I tend to find most resourceful. Congrats on the progress in your career path man. That’s the only way to move up - turn something that you didnt know into something that you do. I remind myself daily that if i want to be more successful I have to be more determined and valuable than I am in the present.

Very informative on Corporate usage of VPN's but can we get a video with a bit more information on the personal VPN's such as NORDVPN for example, and how it is able to do what it does, mainly the putting you in other countries to access stuff like Netflix to get different shows only available in different regions.
@kukoj3 жыл бұрын
These generally used services are not parts of network certificates i think :D But the method is slightly the same. The service provider gives you access to its private networks, so you can use their server park's IP addresses and geoLocations to surf the internet. So when you logged in to their network, you can hide your indentity and original location. It seems like you are there, where the server is settled. When its useful? Some countires ristrict access for several siter or contents, if you use VPN, you can bypass restricts. An other useful thing is the serurity. Your data is traveling encrypted between your device and the server, so you can use unsafe public open access wifi networks SAFELY.

- allows the user to send data as if they're part of the target network - the data is encrypted before it passes through the public internet so not viewable by malicious actors on the internet - site to site VPN ideal for multiple remote sites and always on - site to site VPNs are configured on both sides on the router on each network - Firstly, upon the sending of data the router reviews the data packet encrypts it when it sees a destination VPN site - Secondly, after encryption the router encapsulates the cipher data with a VPN header & trailer, and and an IP header - the data then passes on the public internet in encrypted form - private and anonymous source location - Upon reception the router in the other site decrypts the data into it's original form and sends it to destination IP on that network

This seems the same as general encryption (TLS, SSH, etc). I would have liked to see a quick explanation of how it's different than that. For example, if I think about my remote work, I use websites (HTTPS), email (STARTTLS), and git (SSH). So if all of these are already encrypted, why do we bother with a corporate VPN?

So a Site-to-Site VPN sends the data straight from the sending host to the receiving client? It does not jump from router to router like a standard internet connection? Or am I misunderstood?

does anyone know if ipsec protects/encrypts data that you are sending out to someone thats not on the network ? like my devices internet traffic or does it only protect/encrypt data that you are sending to a another device on your network?
@Certbros2 жыл бұрын
Not quite. Internet traffic is usually protected with HTTPS which uses TLS for encryption. IPSec will be for your VPN connections.

If you use HTTPS and SSL, the remote access vps can decrypt your ssl connection right? Effectively it creates another ssl connection or man in the middle attack? is this true or not? I'd like to understand what a VPS can see even if your using SSL or SSH. I'm trying to understand what a VPS could see if I did an upload to github while connected on a vps. I think SSH is safer as the packets are encrypted from my pc and the VPS would need to know the private key or public key to decrypt/encrypt in between. I'm trying to understand if the VPS just passed data on or it will actually create a new TCP connection.
