@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE Oh yeah, I should answer your question in the video... Easy. I've been in 3D and 2D art for about 20 years, and have decided to explore music just for fun. Loving it and really enjoy 'playing' it. Which I mean quite literally. Been a long time since art felt that way. But as you say, it's vastly crowded with tools and plugins out there, and it feels especially tricky to commit to a synth. Most plugins that I own, I follow and discover well enough fir the most part, but synths, vital, massive, serum, they're all complex scary looking things. In the end I chose this. There's something discoverable about it, but playful too. Maybe its my age that there's something comforting about it looking a bit like winamp. :D Mostly though, there's a feeling to the send layering that's a bit like photoshop or zbrush or something like that, so I kinda 'get it' and it doesn't scare me as much... As I'm familiarising myself with the tool, I guess it's the overwhelming nature of limitless possibility that does get scary. I have presets to deconstruct, which is great. But honestly stuff that I really love video-wise is concise lessons that scale. You know how any skill is a bit like a web... one strand leads to the next? Typically, I find that each strand needs an intention to try to fulfil. So videos that maybe start small but build to a sequence on one key kinda thing -- which really blows my mind about this synth btw -- I'd be super interested in that. I don't even mind what genre it's in. It's that layering process that would be cool. Anyway, sorry for the essay. Thanks again.

Really appreciate this tutorial as it's so well done and the best for this VST. Thankyou!! Will be definitely interested to see more content, however not only on the workings of Avenger but your workflow inside of your DAW. Seeing it's a mini DAW in itself. Whilst am sure it could be very true that it's the only VST Synth we will ever need, it sure won't be as many of us as have built up many different options along the way apart from the stock plugins that come with any DAW. Also MIDI routing to a Komplete Kontrol or other generic controllers as not yet worked that out yet seeing the right click brings up the tooltip rather than MIDI learn etc. Cheers!! 👍

my only beef with Avenger - which is my go to synth that I love dearly, is the lack of presets. Having to drop $80 for expansions is brutal. They need to have more general presets just using factory content available. That is why Serum sticks around and just remains so popular. We need more presets! Maybe sell a 500 presets pack for $20 - something like that. Hmmm maybe we should start a preset site...

You know... What we actually want is to hear a lot more of it. Nothing is going to get me to try a synth more than being impressed by the sound. The tiny bit we heard sounded pretty good... But you already had it set how you wanted it to sound.. I'm not rushing out to demo it, because I didn't hear you tweaking around at all. I didn't get any since of it really... You learn what is synth can do by tweaking with it and hearing what it's like in between all of the finished sounds you're looking for.

Thanks / great overview. Start following. One thing - the Arp has always confused me - so maybe show in future, if there's any smart way to make sure your Arp will play in a specific key e.g. Cmin. Also a smart way to export the Drums to your DAW. And the Editor - best way of using that ?
@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE10 ай бұрын
All great questions which we are going to cover in future videos, but some short answers for you. regarding the Arp (sequencer), the root note is whatever key you hold down on the keyboard. So, when you look at the arp default, its just C repeating. Instead of C, think of this as the root. So if you press G on the keys, its going to play G repeating, the root follow what you play. C in the Arp is sort of like saying the root of the scale. Lets say you moved the first step in the arp up 7 steps, then when you press down C on the Keyboard, it will be playing 7 steps up on the first note, or the 5th of the scale. If you want a specific scale, you can use the new scale parameter when you go into the Random (dice button) Then the notes generated should snap into that scale you defined. Its always good though to learn the specific intervals of the scales and and modes you want to work in. Drums into the Daw: Best way I found to do this. Check out the Mixer section of this video, you will see when I go into the drum mixer tab and show the dropdown to route each sound out an individual output. Route each sound to their output. Then in your daw, make an audio channel for each drum output and route out of avenger into each channel. Then you can use the effects of your daw. You can also export the midi from the Arp, then import into the Avenger midi track and tweak the midi as the song goes. you will make to turn off the arp at this point. The editor changes based on what synth engine you are working with. This can get deep but will cover in a future vid. Hope that helps.
@davidpurple369810 ай бұрын
@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE Thanks for great answers. The new Scale parameter helps but would be great if the arp coulee be 'locked' to a specific Key. I will watch your videos as the come along. Thanks

There is a lacking flaw in Avenger going back to it first incarnation. You have no way to group all your favourite sounds in one place unless you create a folder yourself and copy and paste the fave sound into it. You might be thinking that's not a bad workaround but once you start owning multiple packs, keeping track of your fave sounds manually becomes really hard. Nexus (related to the same people who make Avenger) have a great section of favourites saved in one spot automatically once you click save as fave. When version 2 came out I thought this simple fix would be sorted but so many great features were added and this wasn't.. Ive stopped using Avenger and wont be buying any more soundpacks. THere are thousands and thousands of sounds and having no way to get to the ones you prefer should be a standard feature. Annoyingly, Ive been banging on to Avenger for ages and give up.

Why is it better than Falcon? Falcon is a Beast too, it has also many very very good Effects and many different Oscillators. From a producers standpoint: are the premade sequences useful for productions or are they more of a gimmick. Is it a good idea to create and sell a track with this predefinded Sequences? Thanks!
@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE10 ай бұрын
I think the sequences are great starting points, they are very musical and I usually tweak them to fit the track or the groove. I have falcon, and have used it on my projects by tweaking some presets, but I find the layout and work very very confusing. With avenger, it looks like all the hardware synths i've used, just with much more advanced features, the visual aspect makes it very easy to understand where to go. When I try and start a patch from scratch in Falcon, can't even figure out how to get an oscillator in. I haven't taken the time to dive into the manual, just used and tweaked presets, but its not an inviting workflow from my point of view.

Idk man avenger has always been a dud in my opinion. Just a cheap virus ti clone and a sampler. The workflow is clunky and the fm sounds like ass even when oversampled. Even a synth as old as albino 3 blows it out of the water when it comes to fm. The samples are good, I’ll give it that, but you’re better off just getting vengeance packs. And also it does the cheesy gated supersaw trance thing really well. But honestly, with competition like phase plant, serum, vital, pigments and the new current this synth can’t really justify its price point

In literally what way is it a Virus TI clone?

Dude, this is nothing like the virus other than it has some analog models for oscillators and filters. Guess what? So does just about every other synth plugin created. I wish my TI2 had all of the features and functions that Avenger does. They both do sound great. That's true too.

@@MIDNIGHTCVLT I do not agree, if you do not like that is not at all, virus ti costs 3000 dollars avenger 2200 dollars, and avenger is super synth,!

@@TheBeatG it's not about I don't like it, I like it, it's just it has lots of stuff but none of them is well done like in other synths. The FM sounds bad compared to phase plant, also the granular (the old one at least) doesn't sound as good as the one in phase plant or pigments or current
