I have ran my p/s rack with the lines looped with residual fluid on probably 4 VR swaps/ couple 16v's and it was just fine. I made my own line, similar to yours, and I've found that the feedback from the setup is actually better IMO especially when at higher speeds. The only real drawback is it's a little harder to maneuver from a dead stop, other than that the 'heavier' steering feel is preferred for me. Your forearms will get bigger. 😊 For a drag car like you're building i would prefer that setup vs. having all the extra weight/ complexity of power steering. Totally agree about the rivnuts/ mk3 swap tab retrofit. Makes a huge difference on the 'levering' effect for sure. The weight is nothing compared to the upgrade in effectiveness in the sway. Oh, for the big bumper for a effective 'quick-release' setup, (how I've done it in the past,) is to use a dimple die and hole saw to lighten up the rebar as much as possible, then i ran hood pins, or quarter turn dzus fasteners right thru the cover into the rebar. Makes an on/ off affair take seconds for servicing/ putting it up on the lift when you have aero/ are low. The big bumpers are flat so the whole quarter turn/ hood pin fastening setup works awesome. You can also weld standoffs to your bumper rails to mount struts/ supports for a splitter/ undertray/ weight plate. 👍👍

I agree on all of it. Im using the push pin type latches and oe side mounts for the bumper. When you see the intake i made, youll see theres a rebar delete lol

Would this subframe work with a 12v 2.8L VR6?
@SmithsEuro Жыл бұрын
Yea any vr6 really any engine you are swapping in. The main benefit is to make your mk2 into an mk3 driveline where everything is more modern and easy to get
