one thing I wish you'd covered is there's at least one great feature that's Quest-only for now: finger tracking. The Quest's OS added hand tracking last year, and VRChat added support for it a few months later. Not only can you put the controllers down and use your actual hands to gesture and do sign language, but there are UI elements so that you can use gestures to walk, jump, and open menus. It works pretty well, but does relegate you to Quest content on the platform. I really wish I could do it in PC mode, because I tend to fidget with my hands, and if I'm holding a controller, that means I'm bouncing around the room for no reason. Moreover, Quest VRChat has the same OSC server as PC, so a lot of full body tracking options will work with it.

Hey, I’m a quest user, and this is a quick tip for other quest users if you don’t know this. If you go to the debug settings, at the very bottom there should be stuff called the cash, there’s three things you click on, clear those. And it should make your game run a lot more smoothly. I usually do it every time before I leave the game

small clarification: i know you were talking about avatars when you mentioned shader restrictions, but in worlds, you can use any shaders you want, it's just not recommended by VRChat (and a few of them just straight-up won't work, but quite a few of them work just fine)

I have a Quest 2 but connects with my gaming laptop, I like the VR Chat experience on PC way more, I feel like I'm missing out too much when I'm on the Quest 2. Also, nice new avatar!

One interesting difference from quest vs pcvr vrchat is that you can only use easily enabled finger tracking that also lets you move around and stuff on quest, i really wish they would allow it to run on pcvr as well. Also at least in my experience, the FPS downgrade on quest is like the hardest thing to tolerate, especially in newer updates, you can't have more then around 15-25fps (especially with mirrors) in worlds with multiple people unless you wear a optimized avatar and make everyone else a fallback cause sadly most avatars are very poor optimization. Unfortunately i am very very glad I could move to pcvr and stop using quest standalone because of that. Great video btw! :3

On the topic of quest and PC a lot of the latest updates are causing both platforms to suddenly die or disconnect people. I know this is usually a bug but come on seriously you’ve had to deal with this so much you wouldn’t think you’ll be able to mitigate it before it happens. As a quest user, I can say my experience hasn’t been pleasant. Thanks for this informative video! (Also noticed that you curl your pinky finger a lot lol)

Quest 2 is okay for standalone headset, last time i used it it was just for movie watching while i was outside my home. But when i'm home, PCVR with Valve Index it is.

On a positive it’s for quest pc differences, the quest version is the only vr game with full movement that can be done solely by hand. No controllers needed. All you have to do is certain hand gestures and movements to do things like move, jump, and pull up the menu. It ain’t perfect, but quite impressive

after switching from quest to pc honestly the biggest diffeence i noticed was just avatars making sound honestly

as someone who switched from quest 2 to pcvr, i can say that theres definitely a huge difference when interacting with pcvr players. now i know this is obvious because the majority of pcvr players stick to the social hierarchy, but its still nice to mention for those unaware. its honestly sad that people just took a hating to people simply because they have a quest tag. ive put in around 700 hours on the game, and the amount of bullying i see take part is depressing. my best recommendation for not getting bullied is to use virtual desktop or airlink to connect your quest to your pc so you can play the pcvr version.

Im a quest user and honestly it kinda destroys a lot of the super fun things in VR Chat. Even in the black cat I just crash every 10-30 mins or so just talking and chilling with someone. My favorate game is the Spider-Lair which lets tou swing like spiderman but that one crashes mostly before a half a lap of the quite small city they put is in, usually I get anywhere from 1-8 mins of swinging before I crash. A lot of my experience is hampered too because hanging out with me limits other friend's options for games and locations we can go to significantly, so it also sucks being "the quest friend"
