I love your tutorials so much, they're so much more beginner friendly than most of them out there! I run into some weird problem 80% of the time that other tutorials never reference and then I come to your videos and you almost always show an example of that issue and how to handle it. You're an absolute blessing ;w;

Awn, thank you for the feedback! I always test everything myself, of course I won't find every problem, every time, but if I do, I make sure to mention it in the video! 😊 I am glad that you find the tutorials helpful and best of luck with your projects!

Hello how do you manage to use VRM shaders? when I import a model it always comes as UniGLFT/UniUnilit and cnat use Realtoonshader on them
@LadyAskaАй бұрын
@@CarlitoxBanana Depends on the model. For example a Vroid vrm model will always come with the MToon shader. I wasn't actually aware that vrm supports other formats too. Regardless of that though, vrm itself doesn't support RealToon as a shader. I have do export it over the SDK plugin, as a completely different format, to get the RealToon shader on there. Just from what you wrote, I can only imagine, that you got the model somewhere online and that the model already came with different shaders. If you need more help and are willing to let me have a look at the model, I could maybe find a workaround for you. You can contact me over Discord under 'ladyaska'. :)

While RealToon isn't right for Hide, I do see the value in it for other model types, as you said, and you did a great job of making it simple and quick to use, as well as covering little things we wouldn't think about, along the way. Excellent as always. And congrats on another Patreon patron! That's -two- people who see the value of supporting you. C'mon everyone else! Help us help Aska! 💜

I really didn't want to release this one, without fixing the thing first, that was bugging me so much xD Seriously though, thank you guys so much for the support!

I wonder what the bug is that makes VRMs not have proper shading when exported.
@LadyAska2 жыл бұрын
I suspect it's the format not being capable of working with the shader. Would love to know too, if there would be a possibility for a shader, that works as a real replacement of the Vroid Standard shader and could be exported as a .vrm.
@yalldrinktea2 жыл бұрын
It's a feature of the VRM standard. A VRM model can only use one of three shaders: MToon, the Unity Standard Shader or 'Unlit'. I think the VRM exporter is seeing the custom shader and swaps it out with the unity standard shader at export time so that the file complies with the standard. Unfortunately, the unity standard shader was designed for somewhat photorealistic rendering and looks metallic by default, so blanket copying settings for a stylised toon shader over to the standard shader doesn't turn out well.

Yep, you can do with this a ton more. It's more a tutorial to introduce the concept of shaders to people, how to apply them, how to export them etc. The usecases are all in your hands and there are waay better shaders out there as well :)
