I'm a WHO fanatic and had a smile from ear to ear listening to this story. Also, the author is Dave Marsh! I think that's who he was thinking about... book "Before I Get Old"

Maybe as a who fanatic you can explain why Pete Townsend's such an overrated asshole that only knows how to play power cords that couldn't play a good lead to save his ass

I saw Mountain every time they played Fillmore East. Loved 'em; Leslie, Felix and of course Corky's a tremendous drummer.

I saw the Who in 1968, Mountain a couple of years later. Moon, before his lifestyle took its toll, was the most impressive drummer I have ever seen. I'll never forget that first concert. Keith's drumming has been described as "savant-like" and I agree. Impossible to describe what he did or how he did it. Corky Lang was also considered good back in the day. I love hearing Keith Moon stories and hadn't heard this one. Thanks Corky.

We all did in those days. Such a unique sound. Great talents in the band.

Seeing videos of Mountain onstage influenced my decision to make the Les Paul Junior my main instrument. I will never get tired of that killer rock and roll tone and sustain that you can only get from an LP Jr. I got lucky and found an early 60s Jr. in trade for an old Laney bass head, of which I had two .

Did you buy Leslie's fingers, too. Because that is where the sound came from...

Corky and Keith were heavily influenced by Phil Bilzor of "Bacon". I'm surprised that wasnt mentioned. They met at Bacon's debut at the Filmore East. ROCK ON PHIL!
