Ok I have seen a lot of heavy machinery videos here on KZbin. I got to say. This highly impressed me. The efficiency showed here is just amazing. Who needs a shredder when you have this setup. Even stripping the wiring from the ECM with the side forks. Just wow

I am by no means an expert but i think i know what they are doing here . This scrap yard takes in scrap end of life cars , They don't have a shredder on site so aim to maximise the revenue form there scrap cars prior to sending the shells to a shredder run by another company this machine helps this as the material removed , alloy radiator , engine , copper cable , catalytic converter rear axles etc are all worth more per ton as grades of scrap than a whole car is if sent direct to a shredder in addition the air bags would need to be removed prior to sending to a shredder also and that was done when he tore the dashboard out . So yes it is slower than a shredder but vehicle treated this way is worth more to the scrap yard so worth taking the time to strip with this machine .
@jaymanxxxx6 жыл бұрын
exactly the platinum in the catalytic converter is only 500.$ per car then aluminum radiator engine block. all the copper in the wires. adds up
@MichaelJohnson-by1tv6 жыл бұрын
You definitely will get more value added revenue to your bottom line if in particular you are processing materials that are high in mixed steels and copper in a stripped down and cleaned to grade return to recycler condition. I can see this being beneficial for that purpose but to what volume of recycled clean copper or steel is required for cost to justify demand? Still though, is it just me or am I the only one who got ravenously hungry while watching this? 1 more like for the commentary.

The claw machine is mostly stationary. Makes you wonder if for these applications a plugin variant could be made where the hydraulics are powered by an electromotor powered from the mains, instead of the on-board diesel engine. It would probably substantially reduce the running cost, since the engine is revving all day but the claw machine isn't really going anywhere.
