In this video I’ll go over my install of VRSF Relocated (hot side) Turbo Inlets. The kit is a little tricky to understand due to some instructions that are vague and partially outdated, but I’ll do my best to help people understand how I worked through the install. This is also the first time I’ll start the car since beginning the RB Turbo 19t install.

Been on KZbin for quite some time now and never make comments, but you sir have an amazing build. I love the way you put thought into everything you do and supreme turbo choice; can't go wrong with RB. I too have an is and love the car. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see the finish product. Winter dying down here in Michigan so can't wait to get mine back on the road as well.

@@midwestbmw1292 Without a doubt, I believe we all appreciate your videos man. You have legitimate reason behind every decision you make which helps other makes informed decisions in regards to their vehicles. Also, not a lot of vidoes on RB turbos and you have put some info out and that's great. Definitely what I will be going with when i decide to uprgade my turbos. I thought i was going to do it this year, but decided to upgrade my braking system and fuel system instead. I might brake down and still do it mid-summer. As of now i have a 2011 bmw 335is with 60k on it. I have the bmw m performance exhuast, carbon fiber exhuast tips, suspension and m performance brake kit front and rear calipers and rotors, dinan oil cooler and carbon fiber air intake. Im running the vsrf charge pupe with forge diverter valves. Precision raceworks upgrades low pressure fuel syetem (lpfp stage 2.5 and full e85 fuel line). I have the rb pcv valve, bmw oil catch and the 3.5 bar tmap with the adapter. can an Not sure if I'll do the RB two plus or the highflows. For me 550whp is enough but I like to have my car over built for the power ill run so might go with the same turbos as you and run lower boost. Definitely will have to keep me posted on the spool of your turbos once you get your custom tune.

When your show in the area where you plug your vacuum canisters I remember I did exactly the same one time on my old 135i..., The 1 series have the same bolt holes for something that was never installed there, I assume that was going to be a good idea to put the canisters there so I route the vacuum lines there and after that it seems pretty straightforward. The problem was that about month later somebody hit me on the driver side fender while parked at night time near downtown and I didn’t realize that till I got back home after some spirited driving.., the canisters where crack and I develop and nasty Boost surge and sadly one of my turbos got screwed up..! Thank good goodness the engine was fine. Of course that happens just to me but I would hate to see somebody else having the same issue because of not thinking it straight. The reason why the vacuum canisters are inside the engine bay is to protect them from cracks since that plastic gets very brittle as time goes by... That’s just my experience, Who knows maybe by now you already installed them somewhere else. Thanks for the detailed video and I hope you’re still enjoying your ride. Kudos

Thank god I found this channel! Your building this car almost exactly like I would myself, M3 rear subframe swap, same turbos I would choose and everything. only thing I was thinking I would do differently is that I would have bought the forward facing intake manifold from BMP which includes the port injection bracket. And your car is even the "is" model which Im looking to buy and start my build on. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these!

@maxa7665 2 жыл бұрын
@@midwestbmw1292 That is probably going to be great. tbh I prefer the forward facing intake manifold just for the looks. I don't think it will help that much for it to be worth the money otherwise. It just makes it harder to fit the power steering reservoir in there since it takes so much space and it needs that special charge pipe too.

That n54 engine bay is such a pain to organize things sometimes. In my opinion it's best to either leave everything in stock location, turner motorsports kit (like your setup but looks cleaner) or go bottom mount single turbo kit and call it a day. Everything else you do the engine bay looks messy. If I were you I'd add that gold heating tape around your outlet silicone hose, usually they fail if you leave it like that. Great video! Good job on the project and can't wait to see it doing some pulls!

Nice build. Your inspiring me to work on my IS! Are you planning on going with a bigger exhaust system (3" to 4") since you're running the RB's? I hear that the performance exhaust isn't adequate for the higher boost and can still cause some thrust issues due to the higher back pressures. Or are you gonna run lower boost for a while? Thanks for the videos man, please keep 'em coming!

I rather like the sound of the PE and honestly I’d like to keep it. I do plan on deleting the secondary cats to improve flow and I’ve already modified the exhaust to eliminate the factory restrictions where the pipes compress and flatten out from the factory. Rob Beck seems to think that set up will be fine on full send with the GF high flows. Full send it shall be. Truth be told I have kicked around the idea of a full straight pipe system the likes of VRSF or ATM.

Yeah I posted two pics a few days ago. If you click on my community tab you’ll see it. I unfortunately have a misfire on #4 and it’s likely a leaky injector. My car has index 11 injectors so it comes as a bit of a surprise. I got lucky and found a remanufactured one yesterday at Injector Rehab and ordered it. I’m probably just going to tear into the car and do the gaskets, walnut blast, block head ports to compliment the RB external PCV set up, install the B58 coils and PI fuel rail. I wanted to wait till I had everything but…the injector and fuel pump backorder is kinda forcing my hand.

I’m still in limbo waiting for the back ordered LPFP. However I have had the car on the road just to see what it’s like and even without a tune it’s insane. These RB turbos are no joke and the car is a complete handful. I can’t imagine what it will be like with full E85 and a custom tune. Definitely worth it already.
