I had a major trauma last night. I was preparing to try busking karaoke for the first time singing in pubilc in 35 years. I sounded HORRIBLE!! I could not figure it out. Then i swtiched mics..omg..thank god..I'm back. As it turns out the other mic was too loud, i could not hear myself just through the amp. Do singers wear earplugs on stage to hear themselves!?!? If not..how do they do it? There is a delay from the voice to the amp..i really couldn't do it at all.

I had the same experience two weeks ago at a band jam night, first time performing with my band in a pub. So embarrassing. The delay was completely throwing me and I just couldn't snap out of it...I closed my eyes to concentrate and get through the entire song but I sounded horrible :(

Rather worn out, burnt out - working as tour guide (12 hours a day), and on other job with customers for approx.9 hours a day
