I love this! I have a good voice but I was never taught breath techniques at all and I know that is my weakness. I might just purchase your program.

My friend sang professionally in a duo with her ex husband she plays guitar too, she had a nice voice, but one day l asked her to sing a neil diamond song forever in blue jeans, she sounded just like him, everything she did was just like him it was like he was there, she thought l was joking when l told her but admitted it felt so easy singing like that she hadnttried to copy him instead had freed herself to sing how she felt, l got her to try another and again it was incredible, she was pretty sure l was kidding her only the strength of my insistence persuaded her to sing to her daughters and a few other people one had never heard of neil diamond ( 20 yrs old and nothing newer than today was in with her lol ) but l played some of neils songs then she sang them accompnying herself with her guitar, the reactions of those she played too, one of them a big diamond fan finally convinced her now she has fun again singing now im trying to get her to goout there as a neil diamond tribute

It is obvious that all vowels are challenging but when you manage to differentiate between them with correct spelling and while singing them it's done

The past few weeks i started to watch your videos for self learning and i love how you gave simple explanation & examples to make it easy to understand. I have watched your videos on posture during singing but inthink they are too short. So could you please make another video for posture during singing, more detail gesture for each part of body. As for myself i think i’m having problem with too tight/tense body also with my head posture, either raise my head up or down a bit too much. Thank you & looking fwd for your new inspiring videos 😊

I want to preference this comment by stating I’ve been watching Victoria for a long time. I’ve learned a ton of stuff for her, and she’s given me my voice back. That being said, This may be a little off color, don’t know, is it just me or does she not look super cute with those flipping overalls on ?!?!? oh my God I know she’s an older lady but damn she looks really good for her age. And she seems like an angel.I love her. I don’t mind telling you that. Ha ha ha preach on sister Victoria.

Long story short, I hope this video helps, I've been told by a few people I respect that I have potential, but it's gonna take a LOT of work. Been told that without the LOT of work part for a long time and I was simply ignorant and self-loathing, wasted much time doing not much at all. Longer story: I didn't really understand the "just sing your own voice" or "just be yourself" advice, because I'm always being myself, which took a bit of time in life but I've been quite happy for sometime after "finding myself" in the sense. Life has been great. In fact, that's what stumps the mind, is how am I quite content in my own skin, doing my own thing, and being my own flavor of human being in what say and do daily, yet the one element that snags is singing, which really feels as if it should just come naturally, because gosh darn, everybody can sing and everyone has their unique beauty in that. I'll give this a try when I can, I have had difficulty in many ways with struggle to sing, not just physically, but mostly mentally restricted, if that makes sense. In a poetic way what some good friends have encouraged me so far, from two sides of the same encouraging advice I've been told with my name as a helpful poetic device: a self-imposed strict self - discipline of a nonexistent panopticon's illusion of power strengthens (the) opaque veil/curtain masking (a) hidden (unrefined/unprocessed) jade phoenix (and it's) (dancing) voice emerging. On the other school of thought, the shell of a big bird [phoenix] is hard to crack, even from the inside. I've been told I have potential in my life and just didn't care to listen much, but I've allowed myself to try a bit and I've found indulging in singing to be something I wished to have gotten the courage to do so much earlier, even alone and just by myself. I keep getting told by the people whose opinions I respect as people with singing experience, to find my own voice, and I've sort of understood what that was a handful of times when I caught myself idly singing to myself a noteworthy rock song on the radio while I was driving, and subconsciously anticipating a nice big chorus part, singing through it and as soon as I realized it sounded good and was effortless, immediately I lost it. I couldn't find that easy way, that felt as natural as just speaking but from my inner inside, I suppose one might say to sing from the unconscious soul, if that's what that strange feeling is. I very much enjoy singing and I hope this will help, as it would really be key to expressing myself with the music I've been writing. I don't want to sound like anyone, but I don't mind the fact that I'm inevitably influenced by the singers that inspired me, and that will simply be some flavors or coloring to apply as I further think about the voice as not only an instrument we are born with to speak, but to emote and express where language leaves a void to be filled, and that back voice thing might have something to do with it, I think. If anything else, thank you for making the video, it at least has spurred some thought within me it seems! :) take care.

Thanks Victoria, you're a very practical vocal coach giving very good advices to beginner singers. The both hands 3 fingers technique gently press outward on the neck helps to keep the larynx vocal cords open and eliminate any voice constrictions so that we can sound much better. Then do the vocal exercises sing freely in your low / middle / high Ah, Ah, Ah ... hold the pitch constant make sure to sing without any vocal constrictions. You can use the both hands 3 fingers technique here the moment your voices start to break to keep the vocal folds air passage open temporary cleared for a good singing voices. I hope I got this right and teach others about it when they first start to sing.

I love this. My heart has always been much fed by music, and have been singing to myself since I can remember. In my late 60's now, and post a couple surgeries and loss of some breath control that I'm still working in n, and I don't even want to sing in church. But singing is essential to my psyche, so I thought, if KZbin could tell me how to fix my leaky faucet, maybe.....and I found you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm.

See my playlist on How to Sing High Notes. The basic principles are the same, no matter what voice type. If you push up too much vocal weight, then you should also see my playlist on Mixed Voice.
