Thanks for the comment! I've never played Heian Shogi before, but it seems interesting... I think it's more similar to chess since you can't reuse your pieces, but it'll definitely take longer to play since there is neither rook nor bishop. I think it can be another possibility of shogi!

@@ChouwaShogiChannel I'm studying that early form of Shogi... I'm not clear about lances .. or were rooks? What do You thing about it?

I'm not really sure about it either, but I guess there's no rooks in Heian Shogi. Maybe the lance can be a key in Heian Shogi rules since there's no major pieces and the edge can be a important battlefield.

It is generally said that the origin of shogi and other boardgames is chaturanga in India. And I also think Heian Shogi is the oldest type of shogi. Also, Sho-Shogi is another important variation of shogi since it is said that you could "drop" pieces from then on.
