i can see Malgus trying to be more fluent in the beginning, but after experiencing Windu's skill he'd begin to get angry and try a much harder angrier strike, which Mace would block and counter. "Oh I'm sorry, Did I break your concentration?"

I believe this is a nightmare scenario for such an orthodox darksider like Malgus. Vaapaad I think was more than just a Jedi’s version of Juyo. Its move set may be similar, but its attitude within the force was far different and completely alien to the goals of someone who wields the dark side. The lightsaber forms are just as much about how you view the force and hold yourself philosophically as they are about stance, moves, and countermoves. I would argue that a hyper-aggressive force user would never be effective at Soresu and a passive user could never wield Juyo or Djem-So well. You have to connect to each style through its appropriate attitude. Failure to do so is where mediocrity and fail within the ranks comes from. That said one thing Malgus would be completely unable to answer would be the super-conducting loop Vaapaad introduces into the equasion. Malgus can enhance his strength with the force of five hundred tons, and the appropriate Vaapaad mastery would loop that dark side strength back, answering it with the equal force of five hundred tons. Mace may not be the most precise or well honed technical fighter (though he is undoubtedly very good in this regard), his mastery of all other forms notwithstanding. In that arena various sources have mentioned how his peers and students exceeded him. However, he remains the only one that mastered the demands of turning dark side energy without letting it touch you. A better match against Mace would have been someone like Dooku or Vader, who would strain Mace’s technical abilities with the blade while providing better control over their dark side issues and potentially deny Vaapaad its counter-darkside advantages. Physically, Malgus has the edge because mechanical enhancements tend to do that, and I do credit him for perhaps having a little more precision than the usual form V dark side tank. He may even be able to out-brute mace in a telekinesis pushing match, but I don’t think he match Mace for flexibility. Neither would likely decide this by force powers alone. In the end, this would be a clinic of what Vaapad is supposed to do. Both Jedi and Sith would likely start with bladework immediately. Malgus would start with some strong strikes which Windu would counter just as quickly and as aptly. Tensions would rise and the battle’s pace would increase. After a minute or so at an impass, Malgus would drop back for a little space and try a quick, powerful force push. Windu would counter it completely (at best) or shrug it off (at worst). Some opponents would take the opportunity to counter the Sith with some sort of distraction or other use of the force to steal the initiative, but not Mace. Like Malgus he’s a very focused combatant, often to the detriment of other needs or opportunities of the moment. Windu waits. Then Malgus charges looking to plow through the Jedi Master, after all, it worked against Kao Cen Durach, right? Well, it ain’t going to work this time. Malgus trucks into Windu, their blades clashing furiously. Windu doesn’t lose an inch of ground. Malgus is now straining as Mace’s grin broadens and his movements gain more fluidity, more ease. The more massive Malgus is losing ground now to the Jedi Master as Windu presses his attack. This is completely new territory for Malgus, who is not used to being out-tanked. What he may not realize is that he’s assisting his opponent in out-tanking himself. Malgus pushes until he’s broken as Windu’s purple hued blade forces its way through a weak block, severing the Sith Lord’s hand. He raises his other to try a push out of desperation, but to no avail as lavender light spits his neck like cord wood. Thanks. Love your vids.

johnsonfromwisconsin its actually more equal fight than you think, sure he would have his rage used against him, but it wouldn't take long before he'd realize what's going on, after all he has force 6th Sense which basically tells him when a dangerous below is about to land and force foresight which tells him the future, and something else people forget is that he has a near perfect force barrier, not everyone survives two force waves from satele shan ffs, so if you ask me, id say that the foresight and 6th sense would neutralize windu's form 7 and shaterform or whatever it was called

I like the way you paint the picture of this fight. I find it a realistic scenario of how this could go. Particularly Mace's widening grin. One of the things about the mentality of Juyo and Vapaad is that the user needs to allow themselves to enjoy the fight to at least some extent. I find Mace's grin in your depiction highlights that enjoyment nessesary for his form.

I would say Malgus could have a chance to win since he was one of the few Sith which was able to control his rage and not giving into full rage like Anakin did against Obi Wan.And also there was a moment when Malgus merged with the Force and basically becoming "unstoppable".This my opinion.

i have always been a loyal fan of Lord Vader. but i've come to believe, and stated on a few of these vs episodes that characters such as Lord Vader, Darth Sidious, Luke Skywalker, Yoda and even Mace Windu are "to big to fail". by that i mean that their characters are so important to the overall Star Wars universe, that they can't be beaten my anyone on a "one on one" scenario. especially Sidious vs any other Sith, and Luke against anyone. that all being said, i personally have a top three "Sith's". Lord Vader not included for same reasons as i stated before. 3) Exar Kun. 2) Darth Malgus. and 1) "Darth" Revan. personally, and i have recommended it on various vs episodes, i would love to see a "triple threat" vs episode including all three. though my top five would definitely include Lord Vader and Darth Nihilis...

You are forgetting one major thing malgus though does not have shatter point he does have something even stronger that in a duel gives him the ultimate edge malgus can focus so intensely on his target that he can predict almost all there attacks and counter them perfectly and see even the slittiest opening to attack though I don't know wether this would give him enough of an edge to beat him but it would give him the ability to counter maces almost unpredictable fighting style and his use of shatter point would be almost useless.

I don't think so, the use of shatterpoint at the level that Mace uses it would have to take Magus's ability to focus into account. If it didn't it's not really shatterpoint, Shatterpoint appears to take all factors into account and shows a way overcome a situation or opponent.

I was contemplating on what you said about Malgus's rage becoming his own handicap. It is highly possible that such a thing could happen. But I also had a bit of a theory: Even though Malgus can be enraged, he was by no-means a simple brute. If given the chance, Malgus could see through Windu's ploy in getting him to use his rage. Even if Malgus were to resort to his rage, what if there was the possibility that Malgus gave off too much rage for Windu's Vaapad style to feed off of? What if it gets to a point where Windu takes too much of Malgus's rage and becomes unbalanced himself? It could happen...

Malgus was able to take on an entire imperial crew, made out of their best warriors and nearly defeat them, while Mace was easily distracted. Malgus combimation of kicks and punches could possibly throw Windu out of balance.

Thanks much appreciated. Lightsaber forms are derived from the Legends Expanded Universe. They really just help put names to people's styles though they really don't hold much precedent beyond that. But it is helpful to just say ... yeah he's a Makashi Specialist (aka he's a good fencer and very precise) or to say yeah he's a Soresu practitioner (aka he's got really good defense).

An absolute awesome match up, ive been thinking this battle through for days now and i just cant determine a winner. I mean Mace gets the advantage because of Malgus' force Maelstrom and the fact pure hate and primal rage radiates off the guy giving Mace the upper hand and infinite power to enhance his fighting capabilities. But on the other hand anyone who knows Malgus well enough understands that he goes far beyond just primal rage and instead of his rage making him lose control it actually allows him to focus a reverse version of what I just explained with Mace. Because of all the hate and anger being projected by both fighters this would also make Malgus intensely more focused and would allow him to predict what Mace was going to do. All in all it would be a counterfest and would come down to who can keep it up the longest, it would be the best saber fight of all time thats for sure. Due to his inhuman durability i'd go for Darth Malgus but tbh theres fair arguments on both sides.

Strength alone is not enough to give victory to the duelist..its a combination of lots of things but mainly how "attuned"someone is to the force,and how the force "guides"his moves and strikes..For example I consider Maul,and Anakin stronger than Obi wan..but he beat them both,cause of his serene approach to the force,which is the Jedi philosophy by the way,discipline and patience...Only a Jedi can be like that,while Siths are based on raw anger,hate and all out attacks,But that doesn't always work....I consider Windu stronger than Obi-wan and more skillfull as a duelist...well its a tough one..Cant really say..but I lean towards Windu..!!!

Shatterpoint is such a dope skill to have. But I think your definition is a bit off...It doesn't show whats coming next like a gypsy looking into a crystal ball, it's more like an expert miner, tapping on the rocks outside a mining tunnel in order to instigate a cave-in further down the tunnel, deeper in the mine...So instead of random "thumping" and hammering in random mine tunnels, Shatterpoint allows one to "see/know" which rock to "tap" at the mine entrance in order to cause the intended cave-in. Another example, from a fight perspective... Where Malgus would use the force to rip a droid apart "manually", Shatterpoint allows the user to use the Force to find the weakest structural point and hit the droid in that ONE SPECIFIC area to make the droid fall apart at the seems...THATS shatterpoint... Let's say, for argument's sake, that a typical "power-swing" from Malgus takes 1.3 seconds to complete...I'd wager that Mace can get in at least twice the number of strikes in the same time span. Additionally, Vaapad WOULD catch Malgus off-guard simply for the fact that Malgus had NEVER seen Vaapad - which is NOT Juyo, but a derivative. Widen the gap on that one simply due to inexperience against the style (not due to lack of skill on Malgus part) Based on these factors, in addition to those mentioned in your vid I think Mace wins by a much wider margin than you suggest. BakemonoShiz Countless, yes. Malgus took part in the actual WAR you know, You see three short battles, and think that's the entire war? And when he sacked the Jedi temple, the war had ended. Difference is, Malgus wasn't spawned from some novel or comics. There's so much BAD content in the EU, that spawns from these shitty novels, that was declared canon for some weird reason by LucasArts. (Everything OP about Sidious, Sun Crusher, Crystal Star, Bendorion, Mount Sorrow etc etc etc) Honestly, There's very, very, veeeery few things which was good, that came from the novels & comics. Also, I never saw the games as EU. The SWTOR game was Published, and made under Lucas Arts supervision. Something that can not be said about pretty much any of the EU novels/comics.

Mace Windu was basically the best of both. His only defeat came from a blindside from stupid anakin. He basically whooped the emperors ass. Cmon. Who could beat him? And he didn't die. Antoine in the intro to Mace Windu you said that mace was defeated by Sidious when thrown off the senate office building. I may be wrong but i believe that in one of the 501st mopping up the jedi books they have to hunt down windu in the lower levels of Coruscant. I would have to agree. Mace wins hands down. Although in any match up there are variables of the situation of the fight. Evannova95 does an excellent video on Windu and Luke. My opinion, Malgus would be a hefty challenge. But couple Mace's dueling skill, with shatter point, and vaapad, then you have an edge. There is a reason he held his own against Sidious until Anikan interrupted. Facts are facts and it sucks when they outweigh your favorite character. Yoda is my favorite, but definitely not the strongest jedi :(

+Antoine Bandele Wrong. You are thinking of Form VII Juyo, Vaapad is Maces personal variant of Juyo. It combines the form along with Mace's unique perception of the shatterpoint ability to make a lightsaber form that projects darkness back at the person who is casting it. As far as I know Mace is the only one who ever mastered Vappad. Sora Bulq who helped co create it fell to the Darkside. As Mace said "He did not master Vaapad, Vaapad mastered him"

In fact, if the crystal is made too powerful in the brood furnace, then there is greater chance the crystal's power can destroy the lightsaber. There are no lenses powerful enough to resist stronger crystals. The more resilient the lens, the shorter or weaker the blade. The Diatium Power cell can also overcharge and make the hilt explode in your hand. If anything, the marginal power superiority a red synth-crystal has over a natural one is more a downside than an advantage.

Mace Windu slaughters Darth Malgus. Lucas said that in Episodes 1-3 we see the Jedi Order and Sith at the absolute strongest. Emperor Palpatine was stated to be the strongest Sith of all time as Vader failed in that respect. Sidious created a freaking black hole in the EU which is in the same canon as Stwor. The Masters of the Old Republic are surely powerful but are supposed to pale in comparison to the masters that came later. Mace is one the greatest swordsman ever in star wars. Luke after becoming a master gets defeated by Palpatine who was in a clone body. It was only until later where Luke defeats him in a epic saber battle.
