Chaos knows he could use the self-esteem boost. I mean, being the last one alive in a doomed world with the supposed only way of reversing it's catastrophe being found to be a red herring, sent by the true illustrator of the world's demise, and having to watch your only friend and only other surviving person die trying to stop it can do a lot to the psyche. And, if you read the IDW comics, Silver's lot hasn't gotten any better to this day... I personally love Silver. I know he was made to be a rip off of Trunks from Dragon Ball Z, but I believe that particular fact makes him cooler. TL, DR: Trunks is cool and, by association as well as his own merits, so is Silver.

Honestly Silver has the potential of being one of the most, if not the most, powerful character in Sonic lore. His psychokinesis does not fuck around and I get the feeling he holds back on his powers a lot

I agree. Fun fact: sonic, shadow and silver all hold back their abilities. Remember these guys all destroyed an outerversal being (Solaris). Sonic doesn’t try because he doesn’t want to destroy the environment while he’s running or fighting and also because he’s cocky and doesn’t take everything seriously but when he does, you better not be the one angering him. Shadow is held back from his inhibitor rings. Theses rings limit how much chaos energy shadow can expel. When he takes them off he’s pretty much unstoppable though he does tire out after using it for too long. Silver was stated somewhere to have *multiple* superpowers, meaning silver has more powers than he shows. Also sega simply doesn’t allow him to do much. Sega never showed any of these guy’s potential, they gave sonic literally two moves, homing attack and boost, only gave shadow guns, and never expanded upon silver’s moveset in 06. Edit: Kanji in 06 describes Solaris as a "being beyond the totality of dimensions" or some variation of that. Also the verse contains neoplatonism, astral planes, great beyonds, transfinite math (In a Sega Sonic book, Stay Sonic probably), etc

It would be pretty cool and amazing attention to detail if Silver got into Super Smash Brothers and his final smash were his Meteor Smash attack, then wherever stage he’s on would pick up debris from that stage. Like in Battlefield, he’d collect pieces of the ice rock, chunks of the main platform, the cherry blossom petals etc. Mementos would have piles of Shadows, pieces of the train, pieces of the subway platforms etc. Dreamland would have the star blocks, some Kirby enemies like Waddle Dees, Bronto Burts, PhanPhan, Waddle Doos, Gordos, bombs etc. Spiral Mountain would have Jiggy pieces, the 1-Up Banjo statues, pieces of Gruntilda’s lair, chunks of Spiral Mountain itself and on rare occasions Gruntilda herself stuck in the ball with her broom.
