ive asked one of spec ops operator back when i lived in naval base, i asked him, what aspects define best weapon, he just simply said. the best weapon is the one that do its job no matter what the conditions are and no matter how harsh it has been used. you can get the most expensive weapon but yet it does not guarantee you that it will work on humid and hot situation like tropical jungle..

Glock 23 Gen4 .40. Hasn’t failed me in IDPA for over 8 years and countless rounds of all makes including handloads. EDC with G22 mags for 15+1. Also, G29SF 10mm but most people can’t handle true 10mm power. 13+1 10mm in subcompact… can’t beat that reliable firepower.

All ten are good ones. However, Glock is at the top because it is most popular and not very expensive. As far as accuracy, P226 and CZ75 should be at the top. In fact P226 Xsix is the best of the best for competition. Finally, Five Seven is worth of mentioning, but not very practical because of exotic ammo. Reloading 5.7 ammo is tricky. There were incidents when 5.7 blew the chamber of the pistol. On the other hand 9mm is the most practical with heavy subsonic bullets.

I have 1 - 7! The S&W MP is a compact, the CZ 75 is a stainless B, the P226 is a MK25, the FN 57 is FDE, and the 92FS is a M9-A1, the Glock 17 is a Gen 4 MOS, The Sig 320 is FDE.

I agree. FN 5/7 is also my favorite. Weight, magazine capacity, effective fire and more I have not heard like no recoil and the bullet can cross a bulletproof vest . And the lest one is but not the least You can shoot one but not two. The bullet cannot cross through a body. You can reach your target without collateral damage.

I know the USP is in this list as their premium pistol, but I would add H&K's VP series over some of those others. I have Glocks, 1911s, etc. and I love them all...but I can't say enough about the accuracy, ergonomics, reliability and trigger on the VP line.

Have carried and used all of these weapons at one time or another. All good guns, when it comes to simplicity and reliability the GLOCK deserves to be #1. As for value for the price, I thnik you can't beat the S&W M&P. Sig, CZ, H&K, Beretta all excellent pistols. Lots of other good pistols, my personal carry weapon these days is a GLOCK 19 or a Belgian Browning Hi Power circa 1980 made by FN Herstal.

I put 1,000 rounds thru my G21 as fast as I could pull the trigger. It was so HOT that I had to leave one chambered so that I didn't have to touch the slide, it cooked the chambered round before I could eject a magazine and reinsert another one. NO MALFUNCTIONS, NO HARM TO THE GROUPS NOR FRAME!

Are you sure this list is correct? Turkish pistol companies received first prizes from many countries, especially the USA. In the course of my long career in security I have tried a lot of guns, most of them have their uses and advantages. It depends. However, if you’re in a prolonged firefight, than the best gun is the one that has a lot of ammo available. I remember I had to switch to a plasma rifle once because of this. Didn’t really like it before, but grew to like it too.
